The focus of my studies is creating a better connection between humans and nature. In my bachelor’s studies in Landscape and Garden Architecture at the School of Arts in Ghent (Belgium), I have learned to look at landscapes artistically. This study gave me skills in pinpointing the existing aesthetic value of a landscape and visualising the potential beauty. Furthermore, I gained practical abilities in strengthening biodiversity in recreational parks during my bachelor’s internship. Since I remained eager to learn and wanted to delve deeper into the scientific aspect of landscape architecture, I started a Master landscape architecture at the University of Wageningen (The Netherlands). This science-oriented education provi- ded me with further know-how on larger landscape systems. The combination of my artistically centred studies in Ghent, scientifically focussed studies in Wageningen, and work experience has provided me with a valuable multidisciplinary skill set.
