Pa Ta Shan Jen is one of the most fabulous and creative painters in Chinese history. He was born during the late Ming and early Qing and once became a Buddhist monk in his 20s.But later he Jen Shan Dynasty become adherents of Taoism ,then founded and resided in Qing Yun Pu,a famous Taoist temple in Jiang Xi. Pa Ta Shan Jen has profound understanding of the philosophy of Taoism ,which, together with his astounding painterly strength made his literati paintings of high artistic value, sparkling even in today's modern art market. His master piece refines nature into some succinct brushwork of living elements which are endowed with certain spirit and emotion. He also formed a unique style with the great application method of white space in the picture to broaden the artistic conception . As far as I can tell, the essence of Chinese literati landscape paintings , as well as classical Chinese gardens,is to condense the natural universe and man's inward world into one picture or one garden to provide spiritual entertainment, which is perferctly reflected in the work of Pa Ta Shan Jen. Consequently, the design is heading to be in accordance with the character of his landscape paintings and bring to dwellers the enjoyment of life and Chinese culture. By study the pattern and prospect of landscape paintings of Pa Ta Shan Jen , also culture of his temple , this design make use of natural landscape landform and combination of elements from classical Chinese garden to create several levels of spacial experience and artistic conceptions through an overall landscape structure. 16

With respect to this concept, the design of the garden uses the planting design as Thuja the space generator for creating the functional requirements of the occidentalis “Holmstrup” garden. Planting is made on a regular diagonal stepped grid pattern. Open spaces for activities and gatherings, as well as spaces for circulation paths, are derived from this generator grid by “magnifying” the stepped pattern’s geometry at certain points to form the different sizes and types of spaces needed. This way, the paths and open spaces comprising the hardscape will become derivative of the planting design’s logic rather than the other way around. DESIGN CONCEPT

By extracting material elements which originally existed in the district of industry and apply them to the square in different creative ways in line with expected activities, the square would serve as a reminder of the history transition as well as an inspiration for people who experience it.

BRICK

The square is like a huge knitting work weaving all sorts of material elements together to form the whole. Therefore the concept of the square imitates the fiber tension of fabric in pattern while contains both hard and soft materials. Also the weave was three dimentional with two woven green frame and vertical plants. The square would be a reflection of the surroundings, present and past, and also an enjoyable space for daily recreation. STEEL

Using different materials to define spaces for activities and atmospheres. Steel and brick made pavage brings a sense of enclosure with seat and grass land for people to rest and entertain. P l a n t c a n o p i e s a n d w a l l s c re at e a comparatively private and secure space for communication and stay on the square. Water and grass endow the site with soft texture and natural charasterictics and allow children to have fun on the square.

Changes of "weaving form" bring to site rich light effect and utmost linear extends, which vary from morning till evening. Consequently the square appears to be a dynamic and interesting open space to surprise passers-by and give users nice experiences to release their stress.
