Little Italy Market Design Proposition | Copper Cliff, On. | Individual | 2017 The Little Italy Market is located inside the intimate community of Copper Cliff in Northern Ontario. This proposition is meant to draw tourism from around the surrounding areas of the community. The repurposing and expanding of the Lucky 7 is to create this connection between the culture of Copper Cliff and its visitors. People would be able to experience the community gardens and seasonal markets in between the empty spaces of the houses. As they continue to walk along the street, they are greeted with the structure and the outdoor market that hugs it. The extension of the Lucky 7 is where the permanent indoor market is located at and the original structure is an intimate cafĂŠ that uses ingredients from the market and made by the people of the community. This gradient of public and intimacy allows this connection between copper cliff and the outer community. Establishing a relationship allows a medium for the community to present themselves while the structure allows a centralized focus and attraction to the expansive community.

Kivi Pavilion Design Proposition | Sudbury, On | Individual | 2017 The Kivi Pavilion is located inside a park in Sudbury Ontario. This area has a culture of hiking and walking during the summer and snowshoeing and skiing during the winter. The open field allows attraction to visitors wanting to host recreational or private events. This proposition is a response to these activities. I wanted to decentralize the focus on a structure, allowing the focus to stay to these already established features. These pavilions are meant to be an additive element to emphasize these areas. The form of my structure is created around the bald spots of the forest, reducing human intervention and engulfing the structure with the trees around it. The trees act both as a wind buffer during the cold weather and shade during warmer weather. The larger structure is a gathering space for people to use, meant for connections between the open field and events held. The second structure is meant as a rental for using the trails.

Ljรณma Installation | Sudbury, On | Participants: 4 | 2018 The ljรณma creates a glow that invites people to gather around. The emulation of a fire juxtaposes the natural aspect of the uniform man-made structure. This glow betrays itself by its lack of warmth. This contrast becomes the idea of the bright lamps and the dark night of Nuit Blanche.

Winter Pavilion
Design Build | Sudbury, On | Participants: 15 | 2016
The Winter Pavilions introduced and gave experience to design build projects the students would participate later in the program. In this case, these pavilions provide a landmark and a point of interest for visitors who come and skate in Ramsey Lake during the winter. These provided spaces to rest and sit down, allowing a centralized focus of the lake and in turn create a program that allowed vendors to sell warm beverages and provide interest for people to visit.

Christ the King Design Proposition | Sudbury, On | Participants: 4 | 2016 The Church of Christ the King is located inside the downtown of Sudbury Ontario. This is the oldest church in the region, having serving people since 1917. In their 100-year anniversary, there was a need of celebration and planned a renovation. This project was a study of accessibility of the aging community that used the church and the landscape around it.
