VETERANS DAY 2012
Welcome to Clark Veterans Cemetery
ANNUAL OBSERVANCE
The 8,600 Veterans and family members interred here date their service back to the Spanish American War. They include Veterans of all major, and many minor, conflicts over more than a century. They represent the highest level of service to our nation and include one combat casualty our most recent conflict, Operation Iraqi Freedom. They reflect the values and devotion to duty of our military, and served with Honor. May they Rest In Peace.
Veterans Day
LET NO VETERAN BE FORGOTTEN! CLARK VETERANS CEMETERY VFW POST 2485, ANGELES CITY
On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, was declared between the Allied nations and Germany in the First World War, then known as "the Great War." Commemorated as Armistice Day beginning the following year, November 11th became a legal federal holiday in the United States in 1938. In the aftermath of World War II and the Korean War, Armistice Day became Veterans Day in 1954, a holiday dedicated to American veterans of all wars.
