President’s Letter Heat er Green
As many of you know, the Chamber plays an important role in the success of a community. Adel & Cook County is experiencing a tremendous amount of growth and with that comes new opportunities for our citizens. In addition to the highly anticipated grand opening of Southwell Medical in 2019, numerous expansions of existing industries were also announced that will have a tremendous economic impact on future generations for Cook County. This means more employment opportunities for our residents! Our community has the chance to showcase our best assets to visitors from all over the country and the Chamber is here to help make that happen.
In 2019, the Adel Cook Chamber welcomed 24 new members, celebrated 15 ribbon cuttings, held 3 Business After Hours, 2 lunch & learns, and 1 ground breaking. These are all in addition to the numerous special events and activities hosted by our Committees including the Annual Daylily Festival, Business and Beyond “Sip & See”, Leadership Cook, Future Leaders of Cook County, and Christmas in Cook to name a few. So to say that your Chamber is busy is an understatement. There are many ways for our members and non members to network and make connections, both professionally and personally. The countless hours that our Board of Directors and volunteers contribute every month is a testament to the commitment they have to helping their hometown reach milestones. The Chamber could not flourish without their support and the support of our members and we thank you. In addition to the numerous volunHeather Green
teers that help us throughout the year, the City of Adel and Cook County also offer many resources, time, workers, and funding to aid in the many activities sponsored by the Chamber over the course of the year. Both entities support the Chamber in every way possible making the Chamber’s annual program of work obtainable and successful.
As we celebrated the 100th birthday of Cook County in 2019, our community remembered where we came from and most importantly where we are going. As we embark on a new decade, I want to encourage each of you to get involved, ask questions, and help us help you grow. Take advantage of all the Chamber membership benefits that are offered. Moving forward, the Chamber’s Board of Directors and I are coming together, making plans, and setting goals to help our community and this organization flourish. Adel and Cook County is a great place to live, work, and raise a family!!
