A 25 members delegation of National Alliance of Disabled Peoples Organizations (NADPO)demand ten percent budget allocation for People With Disabilities. President of NADPOpresented a PowerPoint presentation describing the present situation of People with Disabilities in Bangladesh and informed the Finance Ministers that government allocated only 0.11%of total budget for the People with Disabilities in 2010-2011 budget. Mr. President described the Minister that every year, the ten percent People with Disabilities of the country are paying 90,000,000,000Bangladeshi Taka as indirect tax. In return, Government is allocating only 0.11%of total budget for the People with Disabilities and this is not reasonable. NADPOmembers Disabled Peoples Organizations demanded 50,000,000,000Bangladeshi Taka allocations every year for the development of the situation of persons with disabilities.
This is important to share with you here that, NADPO organized press conference demanding the same budget allocation last month. The budget will be placed in the National parliament for approval.
