July 2016
From The President & CEO
Scott Batulis President & CEO
I hope you had a chance to enjoy the Thank You celebration earlier this month in recognition of our recent successes. Since our announcement of Magnet Designation, achieving HIMSS Stage 7, receiving Partners in Performance recognition and earning the Stroke Gold Plus award, we received yet another prestigious honor: Most Wired Hospital 2016. The Most Wired™ award recognizes Orange Regional’s efforts for utilizing IT protocols to achieve maximum healthcare performance in the areas of infrastructure, business and administrative management, quality and safety and clinical integration. This is another great success that has taken tremendous team work to accomplish. My sincere appreciation for another job well done!
As you are aware, we have completed the Main Entrance paving project for traffic entering our campus from East Main Street. Additionally, construction of our new Physician Office Building (POB) and Cancer Center (CC) are nearing completion. We will be opening both facilities on September 26. The five-story, 153,000-square-foot POB will be home to most of our outpatient services including the Breast Center, Diabetes Center, Orange Regional Medical Group, Urgent Care, Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging services and more. Our new single-story, 26,000-square-foot Cancer Center will offer outpatient cancer treatment and therapy services. We will also have more than 800 additional parking spaces to accommodate our patients and visitors. Our move into the POB and CC will begin September 19. In preparation, the Organizational Development & Learning Department will be leading and coordinating staff orientation and tours for nearly 1,000 employees who will physically relocate from another site and/or who will work in the building on a frequent basis. These staff members will have nine online orientation courses to be completed through HealthStream by August 15. Additionally, each will be required to tour both of our new buildings. Staff tours begin August 10 with nearly 40 tour guides identified to help facilitate. Specific department orientations will also be required. Thank you for your patience and support as we transition into our new space. I’d also like to thank the Foundation and everyone who gave their time, talents and monetary donations to help make our annual golf & tennis classic a tremendous success. This event raised $250,000 to benefit our capital campaign. I understand the next few months will be busy and I appreciate everyone’s hard work and dedication to delivering exceptional healthcare to our patients. I look forward to celebrating the opening of our new POB and CC with you in the very near future. Sincerely,
