Update for Catskill Regional Medical Center employees, physicians and volunteers

July/August 2017

September/October 2015

A Message From Our Leader The long, warm days of summer bring many to our region to experience the natural beauty that we are fortunate enough to enjoy every day. This is a great time for us to show our seasonal and year-round community members, and their families, how fortunate they are to have an excellent Medical Center available to them 24/7. Just last month, I had my first day in the role of CEO, and am continuing to remark to others how friendly and welcoming everyone has been. Catskill Regional Medical Center is truly a jewel of the Catskills, and it shines every time we greet a patient, and each other – with a warm smile and empathetic approach. Living our shared value of "patients and families first" creates lasting impressions on each patient and their Jonathan Schiller family, an impression that can far outlast a brief illness and hospital visit. It is this experience that patients carry with them into the community, one story at a time, creating our collective reputation of providing exceptional health care. What story will patients carry with them about their experience with you? We have a lot to be proud of at Catskill Regional. Kudos to to our IT Department, as we were named one of America’s 2017 Most Wired Hospitals! Grover M. Hermann Hospital was also recognized as a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital for Quality in the country! Congratulations! Wishing you a healthy and safe school year! In Service, Jonathan Schiller Chief Executive Officer

Grover M. Hermann Hospital Named Among The Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals In The Nation For Quality Grover M. Hermann Hospital was recently named one of the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) in the country for Quality. Grover M. Hermann Hospital scored best among critical access hospitals on iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength Index™. The rankings were recently announced by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). Each of the hospitals recognized by the NRHA this year have achieved success in the overall performance based on a composite rating from eight indices of strength: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspectives, costs, charges and financial stability. This group was selected from iVantage’s Top 100 CAH list, released earlier this year. Grover M. Hermann Hospital’s designation is based on a Quality index: A rating of hospital performance based on the percentile rank across the five categories of Hospital Compare Process of Care measures. The hospital will be recognized during an awards ceremony to be held during NRHA’s Critical Access Hospital Conference in September in Kansas City, Mo.
