Gianni Ugolini

Gianni Ugolini was born in Florence in 1955, under the Gemini zodiac sign. After completing his studies at the artistic secondary school, he went on to study in the architecture faculty at university, and began his career as a current events photographer, completing three years of apprenticeship, first with the editorial staff at Mondadori, and later at Rusconi. As an assistant in the Katty La Rocca studio in Turin, Gianni gained his first artistic experience in the Italian hyper-realist movement, combining photography with graphic arts. Upon his graduation from university, Gianni began working as an architectural photographer for the periodicals Domus and Abitare. During the three years between 1978 and 1981, Gianni worked as a reporting correspondent for photo journalism and tourist articles in the Far East. His publications include works on Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, China and Burma......In 1986, after the birth of his second child, Gianni began to lead a less vagrant life..
