GLASgoW INTERNATiONaL Glasgow International is a world-renowned biennial festival of contemporary art. Every two years, for 18 days, all the city’s major cultural institutions present an ambitious programme of free art exhibitions, events, talks, performances and projects. 2016 marks the seventh edition, bringing together work by local and international artists from 8–25 April for the second time under the guidance of Director, Sarah McCrory. THE CITY Scotland’s biggest city is a revelation to its growing number of visitors. Glasgow’s historically energetic arts and culture scene led to the city being crowned Cultural Capital of Europe in 1990, UK’s City of Architecture and Design in 1999 and in 2014 the city was proud host of the Commonwealth Games.
