“to build a peaceful and better world and to reach for a dream – a dream that no matter who we are, where we come from; no matter what we look like or what hand life has dealt us; with hard work, creativity and dedication, we can inspire and motivate the youth of the world to achieve their dreams” (adapted from Barack Obama on ‘Olympic spirit’) For all of our courses during 2011/12, we will be using this theme to encourage aspiration, to know that it is important to have a dream, to feel dreams can be achieved with support and encouragement and exploring how the power of a dream can influence lives! Our main activity is working with young people, young adults and older people. We run classes and courses in drama, dance, music, technical theatre, film and animation, puppetry and more. Course members come from all over Oxford and the county and make shows with professional actors, directors, musicians, designers and technicians. Over a period of weeks, groups of up to 20 meet and develop ideas using a range of performance skills and techniques. The final result is a complete show for the public on the Pullman Stage at Pegasus. To find out more read on.
