The Charity of the Month for December is Traidcraft Exchange. For further information please visit www.traidcraftexchange.org The thanksgiving service for the life of John Dickinson will take place at St Mary's Church on Tuesday 10th December at 2pm and will be followed by a reception at the King's Head. Everyone is warmly invited to both. People should not feel the need to wear black. APOLOGIES: Unfortunately, 2 of our 3 main boilers are out of action. We hope to remedy the fault as soon as possible but in the meantime please wrap up well! Christmas at Marrick is today at 7pm. Why not begin your Christmas celebrations with music by Marske Choir and a delicious supper in the ancient chapel of Marrick Priory. Tickets are £10 from Cathy Trewby (01748-824468) or Judith Clarke (01748-826793). A bus will run from Nun’s Close car park at a cost of £4, leaving at 6.15pm, returning for about 9.30pm. The boxes of 2020 Collection Envelopes are now available to pick up at the back of Church. Thank you for your support of our church. DATES FOR THE DIARY The Royal Northern Sinfonia, Orchestra of Sage Gateshead, are visiting St Mary’s on Friday 6th December at 7.30pm to give a Christmas by Candlelight concert. Enjoy the candlelit atmosphere of our beautiful church and listen to virtuosic solo concertos and instrumental music showcasing RNS’ marvellous musicians. The programme includes festive favourite ‘Winter’ from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Tickets for the concert are £15 standard or £5 for Under 18s, and are available from sagegateshead.com or by calling the Sage Gateshead Box Office on 0191 443 4661, Castle Hill Bookshop or from Claire Murray. Some may be available on the door, but we would recommend advance booking.


Saturday 7th December between 9.30 and 12.00: Advent Quiet Morning at Holy Trinity, led by Fiona Brown. Drop in at any time to suit you (for further details please see the Magazine or website). Saturday 7th December at 7.30pm: Richmondshire Choral Society present their Winter Concert Praise and Glory at St Mary’s Church. Including Beethoven’s Mass in C, Bruckner’s setting of the Te Deum and Franck’s Psalm 150. Tickets £12 from Choir Members or Castle Hill Books, under 16s free. Saturday 14th December at 6.30pm: The Station Singers present ‘A Countryside Christmas’ at St Mary’s Church. Tickets £9 in advance or £11 on the door. Children free but must have a ticket.
