This is in aid of the Amala Trust and her school visit to the Amala Children’s Home in Southern India. The Children’s Home provides accommodation and schooling for boys and girls from some of the most deprived families in a remote rural area of Tamil Nadu. ****************************************************** Women’s World Day of Prayer is interdenominational and is taking place on Friday, 7th March 2014 at 2.00pm, in the Methodist Church. This year the service has been prepared by Christian women of Egypt. There will be a practice at 2.00pm on Thursday 27th February at the Methodist Church for all those interested in taking a speaking part during the service. ****************************************************** Friday 21st March from 6.30pm. A Fund raising supper in aid of St Mary’s Disability Access Toilet. Hosted by David and Margaret Willey, in their home. Tickets are £9 per person to include a 2 course meal and first glass of wine. Tickets available from Claire Murray or Liz Chambers. ****************************************************** A five session ecumenical discussion course ‘BUILD ON THE ROCK’ (Faith, doubt – and Jesus) begins w/c 10th March 2014. Groups are being held at five different venues. If you are interested in attending could you please sign the notice at the back of church so that the course material can be obtained. Fair Trade Fortnight Feb 24th – Mar 9th. The theme this year is ‘Make Bananas fair.’ There will be a competition and fair trade tasting session at the Co-op on Saturday Mar 1 st and a Traidcraft stall in church on Sunday March 2nd (no bananas). If you are a tax payer please place your cash donations in the yellow gift aid envelope and complete the details. We are then able to claim the tax on your gift.

This is the final week of the course ‘Come to the Well and Drink.’ This week the focus is on Christian Meditation. Monday 17th March at 7.00pm at St Francis Xavier School. Lenten Visit – An Evening of Prayer and Reflection. This is a chance for everyone to meet Bishop James and Bishop Tony as they visit every deanery to discuss the new Diocese.
