The Charity of the Month collection today is for L’Arche (The Ark) provides 10 Christian-based communities in the UK where people with learning disabilities live and work together as equals with volunteer assistants. The people with learning disabilities have the opportunity to lead fulfilling lives regardless of their disability and the assistants are challenged to grow in self understanding and awareness.
St MARY'S 8TH COMMUNITY EXHIBITION : Tour de Richmond - Wheels within Wheels Our Exhibition will be here in St Mary's throughout the May Bank Holiday weekend, Friday May 4th - Monday May 7th, the weekend that the Tour de Yorkshire sets off from Richmond Market Place. Why not join in to enjoy the fun? Exhibits can be small or large, imaginative or humorous. If you choose to create your own exhibit or if you prefer to come along to see the exhibition and have a cup of tea, you will be most welcome. Rugaid, St Cuthbert’s Community Hall, Colburn and The Station Singers present a spring concert “Songs of the Sea”, on Saturday 14th April at 7.30pm, in St Mary’s Church, Richmond. Doors open at 7pm, tickets £8 (£10 on the door) - to include refreshments. Children free but must have a ticket. Richmondshire Refugee Support Group are fundraising to purchase kitchen equipment for the Syrian refugee families in the Richmond area. In order to do this a Soup and Sweet lunch including tea/coffee will be served in Richmond Methodist Church Hall. Thursday 26th April 2018 at 7.30pm The Service of Collation and induction of the Rev’d Martin Fletcher will take place on at St. Mary’s Church. Everyone is very welcome. Sunday 29th April 2018 at 10.00 United Benefice service to be held at St. Mary’s followed by a Bring to Share Faith Finger Buffet. There is a list at the back of church for people to sign up to re contributions for food. Do join us for this lovely opportunity for us all to be together and continue to welcome Rev Martin to the benefice.
