Emmaus is a UK based charity supporting people to work their way out of homelessness. It gives them meaningful community based


work, shared responsibilities, a supportive home for as long as is needed and restores self esteem. PRAYER REQUESTS Please pray for: Those mentioned in the Daily Prayer Calendar in the magazine including Matilda Gardner. All those in particular need of God’s comfort and healing, including, Bill Abbott, Liz Atkinson, Barbara Beatham, Jenny Beaumont, George Bell, Harry Bell, Dulcie Chamley, Jasmine Guy, Mary Hartnell, Jennifer Mole, Bill Overall, Rollie Raine, Janet Smith, Kathleen Wappat, Gavin Wheldon, Alfred Wood and all the patients at the Friary Hospital. BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE – Any names to be entered in this Book should be given to Ann McDonald (01748 823223) along with the date of death and a donation of £5 Christian Aid Week 15th-21st May - 30-40 collectors are needed. Can you deliver to a street near you or to one of the other streets on St Mary's list (the RC and Methodist churches also take part)? There is a list on the table at the back of church and more information in the May magazine. I would also be grateful for help in sorting the envelopes into packs for collectors the week before, and for 'counting cash' people the week after. Our speaker will be Rev David Wilkinson who is going to be speaking about the topic of his new book "When I pray, what does God do?". With his science and theology background he promises to be a really interesting but accessible speaker and is looking forward to helping us (if we wish) discuss and chat about this together in a really informal atmosphere. "Richmond to Richmond tandem cycle ride 23rd to 29th May in aid of Bell Restoration Appeal. Six of us, two on a tandem, will be cycling between the two Richmonds ringing bells at small churches, abbeys and cathedrals along the way. We will be taking messages of goodwill from the Mayor of our Richmond and the congregation of St Mary's to Richmond Surrey. All support welcome. The Friends of St Mary’s are once again organising a Barbeque to be held on Friday 8th July. Unfortunately, we do not have access to our usual gas bbq equipment.
