BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE – Any names to be entered in this Book should be given to Ann McDonald (01748 823223) along with the date of death and a donation of £5. The Charity of the Month collection today is for Banardos. One of the UK's leading children's charities, working with children, young people, carers and parents. Amongst many other things, their services include counselling for children who have been abused, fostering and adoption services, support for young carers, vocational training and disability inclusion groups. The last charity of the month in the present grouping will be at the start of November. To help with choosing the next ones, it would be a great help to have suggestions of charities you'd like to support - there's a sheet for this at the back of church. Thank you.

Wednesday 4th October at 10.15am Richmond Flower Club are having a demonstration by Nichola Davies Munray entitled “Twigs and Twine” at Hudswell Village Hall. Coffee from 9.30am. Call 824514 for further information. Sunday 15th October at 4pm Cafe Church. We look forward to welcoming Dr Jamie Harrison. He is a GP, Lay Canon at Durham Cathedral, Chair of the House of Laity for General Synod, involved in health and healing issues and has a professional interest in wine education. Conversation, cake, compline. All welcome. Please speak to Wendy, John or Gillian for more information or offers of cake! Sunday 29th October. Hope and Remembrance service at 6.30pm in St Mary’s. This is a quiet service (All Souls) with some hymns, readings, a short address of some words of hope and comfort, and space to remember loved ones who have died, whether recently or in the past. There will be the opportunity to light a candle if you wish in memory of loved ones. There will be tea and coffee available afterwards, and a very warm welcome. If you would like the name of a loved one to read out during the service, please add their name to the list at the back of church.
After the Cards and Visitors. Bereavement is a very difficult time for the spouse/partner left behind. Starting again on your own is even more difficult. Carrie and Anne would like to help you with the next step by meeting any recently bereaved spouse/partner for coffee at the Greyfriars Restaurant. Please phone Carrie 850103 to make arrangements to meet. The Happy Bodgers – Are you in need of some small practical assistance? Then perhaps the Happy Bodgers may be able to help.
