BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE – Any names to be entered in this Book should be given to Ann McDonald (01748 823223) along with the date of death and a donation of £5 As part of the relaunch of the Pastoral Team and the setting up of the Prayer Circle we looked at the list of names of people to be prayed for in the pew sheet. In order to avoid people being on the list when the particular need is no longer there, it was felt that the person's name should be included initially for six weeks. Obviously some people may want to be on for much longer and this is not a problem. Everyone who is on the list now will remain for the next six weeks. Please let Liz Chambers know after this time if you would like the name leaving on the list and when you would like this reviewing.
The Hope and Remembrance Service is to be held in St. Mary's at 6.30pm on Sunday 30th October. In this service all those who have died during this year are remembered by name. Please add the names of loved ones you would also like to be remembered to the list on the table at the back of church. Katrina Templeton will be working with members of St Mary’s Flower Guild to create floral arrangements for our Hope and Remembrance Service and those for our national remembrance services during the first two weeks of November. Should anybody wish to help with creating the floral arrangements or make a donation to the flowers would they please contact her for further details: email katrina.templeton@gmx.co.uk, 01748 449300 or 07789220270. All are welcome and help would be most appreciated from anyone with an interest in arranging flowers, regardless of your level of expertise! Keep it Up - A big thank you to the parishioners who have renewed their pledges in response to the Stewardship Scheme. Could those of you who have still to review your giving please let William have your response as soon as possible. We have recently said au revoir to several members of our congregation who are moving to pastures new, including Susan and Robert Wallis, who have supported St Mary’s in so many ways. Now it is the turn of Joan and John Plowman. Joan has been a Reader for many years and has provided pastoral support for so many people. John has been a member of our church choir for all this time and tonight will be his last Evensong. We will be saying thank you after the service this evening. Please join us. Please note that Scott and Gillian will not be holding a Bible Study this Wednesday (12th). They will meet again on the 19th October. Fun-Key Church is on Sunday 30th October at 4pm when we will be looking at the theme "Blessed!" There will be plenty of crafts and activities, prayers, hymns, and most importantly a warm welcome and a relaxed atmosphere. Refreshments will be available thanks to the Mothers Union from 3.40pm.
