BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE – Any names to be entered in this Book should be given to Ann McDonald (01748 823223) along with the date of death and a donation of £5 ****************** Monday Morning Toddler Group starts back tomorrow (12th) at 10.00am in the Methodist Church Hall. Pre-school children and their parents, grandparents or carers are all welcome. Any adults who would like to come and help would be very welcome. Please see Gillian for further information. Next Sunday we launch Keep it Up our 2016 Stewardship initiative. The aim of the programme is to encourage us all to take time to reflect on our regular giving of time, talents and money here at Richmond and Hudswell. We welcome our Diocesan Stewardship Adviser, Paul Winstanley, who will be preaching at this launch service.

We look forward to welcoming Rev Canon Judy Hirst. She is a lecturer, author and priest based at Durham and has written books including the really excellent “Struggling to be Holy”. A very relaxed service combining talk, round table discussion (if you wish), refreshments, cakes and closing with the quiet time of compline. Everyone welcome. Would you like to be part of a group that helps each other as we open up a book from the Bible? The Wednesday Bible Study Group resumes on 21st September @ 2 Hurgill Road - new members always welcome. Following its appearance on recent Sundays we are looking at the book of Hebrews. Come and eat cake and drink coffee! 19:30 start, finish at 21:00. See Scott or Gillian for details. Bible Society Coffee Morning is on Thursday 22nd September in the Town Hall. We need helpers and baking, preserves etc. on the day. Please contact Anne Simpson on 822277 if you can help. She will also take any bric-a-brac you may have. This is a joint effort with the Methodists and the RCs though we have only a small committee, so we'll be glad of your help and support on the day. Silent Auction Saturday 24th September 2.00pm-3.30pm at St Mary’s Church. Please look out any items you can pass on to The Friends of St Mary’s for this event. They can be small or large but need to be in good condition. Anne Holland 01748 829511 is happy to collect, or bring them to church on Friday 23rd after 11.00am. Entry to the sale is £2, including refreshments. Saturday 1st October 7.30 St Mary’s Church. As part of the Books and Boots Festival come to the local launch of Bishop John’s new book ‘Something More’ and the acclaimed new novel of Oxford friend Sarah Meyrick, ‘Knowing Anna’. Enjoy a lively conversation between John and Sarah, with wine and nibbles provided. Bookstall. Tickets £6 from Castle Hill Bookshop or John and Wendy, with profits to our Bell Appeal.
