Georgian Festival Jane Hatcher is leading a guided walk ‘Some Georgian Richmondians’ on Tuesday 16th August, meeting at 7pm outside Castle Hill Bookshop, and giving a talk ‘Pocket Borough to Reform: Richmond from George III to William IV’ on Monday 22nd August at the Town Hall, 7.30pm. Both events are free but donations will be appreciated for St Mary’s. Please note that Pastoral Team Meeting on Monday 12th September at The Rectory will now start at 1.30pm instead of 2pm. The Quiet Garden A Quiet day on Friday 2nd September 2016, 10am – 3.30pm led by Canon Wendy Wilby, former precentor of Bristol Cathedral, at Marrick Priory. Talks, time to enjoy the splendour of Marrick Priory and a Healing Eucharist. Please bring a packed lunch. Drinks provided. There is no cost but a suggested donation of £5 to Marrick Priory. Everyone is invited by the Dean to a special choral evensong service at Ripon Cathedral on Sunday 11th September at which Rev John is to be installed as an Honorary Canon of the Cathedral. The service begins at 3.30pm and there are to be refreshments afterwards. We have been asked to provide numbers of those attending by the end of August. There is a list at the back of the church. Please add your name if you would like to be part of this special occasion. We are investigating the possibility of arranging a coach to take us there and back. Full details to follow. Monday September 12th at 2.00pm in the Wenham Room, Richmondshire Museum - the first meeting of a group that will research the life and times of bellringers in Richmond. If you are interested in Richmond history come along and find out how you can volunteer to be part of the group’s work led by Zoe Dodds, Richmondshire Museum Curatorial Officer.
