The Charity of the Month. The last charity of the month in the present grouping will be at the start of November. To help with choosing the next ones, it would be a great help to have suggestions of charities you'd like to support - there's a sheet for this at the back of church. Thank you. Olive wood products - Once again Anne will be selling olive wood articles made by Christian families in Bethlehem. All the money raised goes back to Palestine to the local families in time for Christmas, letting them know that they are not forgotten. A selection will be available in church after the 10.00am service today. Have a look! You can also order more of an item you like before Nov. 2nd and they will be sent from Palestine before Christmas. DATES FOR THE DIARY Sunday 29th October. Hope and Remembrance service at 6.30pm in St Mary’s. This is a quiet service (All Souls) with some hymns, readings, a short address of some words of hope and comfort, and space to remember loved ones who have died, whether recently or in the past. There will be the opportunity to light a candle if you wish in memory of loved ones. There will be tea and coffee available afterwards, and a very warm welcome. Sunday 29th October at 6.30pm in the Methodist Church: Service for Bible Sunday, led by members of the Bible Society Richmond Action Group (ecumenical). The preacher will be Rev David Wood from Bedale, who was coordinator of 'Biblical Literacy' in Wensleydale and Swaledale. All are welcome. Thursday 9th and Friday 10th November. Olive Harrison is holding her popular Coffee Days in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support from 9.30am – 6.30pm at her home, 52 Darlington Road. There will be a raffle and tombola.
After the Cards and Visitors. Bereavement is a very difficult time for the spouse/partner left behind. Starting again on your own is even more difficult. Carrie and Anne would like to help you with the next step by meeting any recently bereaved spouse/partner for coffee at the Greyfriars Restaurant. Please phone Carrie 850103 to make arrangements to meet.
