St Mary’s is no exception and must submit its report, which contains 16-17 short reports, before the Annual Church Meeting in April.

So that it can be compiled in good time will those people who are responsible for providing one or more of the short reports please let me have them no later than Sunday 8th March, and earlier if possible.

Thank you, Sheila Harrisson Lent Course: PRAISE HIM – SONGS OF PRAISE IN THE NEW TESTAMENT “We are used to singing hymns of praise but often miss the hymns and poems that are there in the New Testament. This course explores five different Songs of Praise from the New Testament – what they tell us about God and Jesus, but also what they tell us about ourselves and our faith.”

This is a 5 week York Course commencing 23 rd February. The times and venues are on the sheets at the back of church.

Please put your name against one of the venues so that the appropriate number of books can be ordered.

Family Help Darlington (Women’s Refuge) The Mothers’ Union are supporting this organisation during the coming year by collecting cleaning materials, dusters, dishcloths etc. to be included in a box of equipment the women are given when they leave the refuge. If you would also like to help, Margaret Clayson at 8am or Liz Chambers at the 10am service would be pleased to receive your donations. If you prefer, small cash donations could be given which are used towards shopping vouchers for the supermarket. Full details in March magazine.

After the Cards and Visitors Bereavement is a very difficult time for the spouse/partner left behind. Starting again on your own is even more difficult.

If you feel you would like to, please join Carrie and Anne for coffee at Greyfriars on Tuesday 3rd March at 10.30am. Further information from Carrie on 01748 850103 Fun-Key Church @ St Mary’s Richmond is next Sunday at 4.00pm, with refreshments from 3.40pm. We will be looking at the Baptism of Jesus through hymns, stories, songs, craft, quiet places and prayer. Very relaxed fun, faith and fellowship for all ages. All are welcome. Tuesday 24th February 2.00pm The Mothers’ Union AGM at the Rectory. Please come and support.

Friday 6th March 2.00pm the Women’s World Day of Prayer Service prepared by Christian Women of the Bahamas at St Mary’s Parish Church. This is an interdenominational service with the theme, Jesus Said to Them: “Do You Know What I Have Done To You.” All are warmly welcome.
