Please leave them in the back pew next to the Children’s Corner or give to Gillian, Claire or Liz. Many thanks. For anyone who feels able to support the Shoebox Appeal there are leaflets at the back of church listing the items, which would be welcome and those which are not allowed. This could be either individually or as a group. Already wrapped boxes are available from just inside the entrance to the Methodist Hall. DATES FOR THE DIARY The weekend of 18/19th October is a special Hunger and Justice weekend of prayer and action for Christian Aid standing alongside the millions around the world affected by our changing climate. More information on the Notice Board. Thursday 23rd & Friday 24th October from 9.30am – 7.00pm All Day Coffee in aid of Macmillan Nurses at the home of Olive Harrison, 52 Darlington Road. Raffle and tombola. Tuesday 28th October, 2.00pm in the Methodist Church Hall. The Mothers’ Union is joining with the Methodist Tuesday Fellowship for a talk by the Women’s Refuge. The Refuge is desperate for items such as shampoo, hair conditioner, shower gel, combs and hair brushes. There is a blue box at the back of church for any donations of these and similar items, which the MU can pass on to the Refuge.


Saturday 8th November, 10.00pm at the A66 Motel. Exploring Faith with Jonathon Ruffer. Jonathon has recently purchased Auckland Castle, home of the Bishops of Durham for over 500 years, from the Church Commissioners. His plan is to turn it into a centre telling the history of Christianity in the north. Saturday 22nd November St Mary’s Church and the Richmondshire Museum are holding a joint Coffee Morning in the Town Hall.
