Bishop John Pritchard, who retired as Bishop of Oxford at the end of last year will speak on, ‘Enchanted by his company’: journeying with Jesus. This will be followed by a time of discussion and a quiet service of compline. We'll sit around cafe style tables, enjoying tea, coffee and home baking in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. As we give thanks for the harvest today, help to make sure producers in poorer parts of the world can earn enough from their labours to live on. Today at 12:00 pm 1 Lombards Wynd. Wine and cheese party. Listen to the Blethermen top class violin and guitar duo and enjoy excellent company and magnificent views over the Swale. A must come occasion. Everyone will be there. All proceeds to Richmond Bell Restoration Appeal Charity of the Month On Sunday November 1st St Mary's will be launching a new way of charitable giving, supporting a 'charity of the month' with a retiring collection every first Sunday of each month. This will be entirely voluntary, but will be a way of supporting others in their Christian work or their care for the disadvantaged. Voting forms are at the back of church with a list of twenty charities to choose from. Please choose up to six home based and six with their focus abroad. Take the form home to think about it if you would like - there's a list of web addresses at the back of church for those with internet access. A box for votes will be at the back of church and some slips to put into the box if you'd like to make suggestions of charities for the following year. Next Sunday is the final day for voting. Next Sunday is Fun-Key Church Harvest at 4pm, refreshments from 3.40pm. We will be thanking God for his abundant love and creativity. We are exploring the theme of harvest with readings, hymns, craft, activities and a quiet space. Monday 5th October at 7.30pm St Mary's Church is hosting the Diocesan Reader Licensing Service, to which everyone is warmly invited. Bishop James will be licensing Readers from Ripon, Leeds and Richmond, including James and Gillian. After the service we
have been asked to provide refreshments. Claire Murray is kindly co-ordinating this and would be very grateful for help and for some more lovely cakes. The Diocese will reimburse.
