November is Will Aid Month Have you considered leaving a

donation to the Church in your Will? A legacy to the Church can be a permanent expression of gratitude and thanksgiving for all the good things in our life and will help ensure that future generations are able to worship in St Mary's just as we are able to. Christingle Service at St Mary’s. A very special service raising funds for The Children’s Society. Each child will receive a Christingle orange which will be lit during the service. Sunday 2nd December. Bishop John is launching his new book ‘Five Events that Made Christianity’ after the 10.00 Service. All are invited to stick around over coffee and cake. Bishop John says it has a nice cover! Copies for sale at a discounted price.


Sunday 2nd December, ‘Christmas at Marrick.’ As usual there will be a bus at 6.15pm leaving from Nun’s Close car park, returning for about 9.45/10pm. The entertainment this year will be provided by Marske Choir, followed by a delicious supper. Tickets are £10 from Cathy Trewby or Judith Clarke; the cost of the bus is £4. Saturday 8th December at 7.30pm. Richmondshire Choral Society Concert, including music by Vaughan Williams and Morton Lauridsen. This concert is a contribution to the commemorations for the centenary of the Armistice on 11 November 1918. Adults £12 under 16s free. Tickets available from Castle Hill Bookshop. Saturday 15th December, 9:00am-12noon. St Mary’s Church Christmas Coffee Morning at the Town Hall. Any donations for stalls, tombola, raffle, jams, chutneys etc. can be left at back of Church, cakes please bring to Town Hall on the day! Any offers of help in the kitchen or serving to Margaret Clayson or Susan Scrafton. Please support and bring your friends. Our choir will be singing carols between 10am and 11am. Saturday 15th December at 6.30pm. The Station Singers, present ‘Home for Christmas Peace at Last’ at St Mary’s Church, in support of local charities. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets £8 (£10 on the door.)
