The Return of the Oxford Gargoyles Following last year's successful concert, the Oxford Gargoyles will be performing again at St. Mary's on Monday 3rd August at 7.00pm. This year, they are supporting the Bell Tower Restoration Appeal. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for under-19s, to include refreshments and a glass of wine. Tickets are available from Brett Overin 821372 or Peter Trewby 824468, or on the door. Sue Rees is going to Abseil Bamburgh Castle on Sunday 30th August in aid of the local Macmillan nurses who helped them through John’s terminal illness. They supply all the equipment not readily available on the NHS. Sue can be sponsored on line at www.justgiving.com Sue-rees 4 or by cheque to South Tees Hospital Foundation Trust No. 1056061 with palliative care team trust fund no. C115 on the back. New rotas for those who read or lead intercessions are now available at the back of church. British Heart Foundation Richmond branch held a coffee morning in the Town Hall on Saturday 18th July which raised the amazing sum of £500. Saturday 1st August The Big Clean This is your chance to shin up a ladder and get rid of all those cobwebs. Cleaning on the upper part of the church will take place from 9.30am-10.30am and for the less adventurous, pew and brass polishing will start from 10.30 onwards. Drink and refreshments will be provided during the morning and please bring food to share for lunch. Saturday 26th September - Prof. the Rev. Jeff Astley, on 'Why do we suffer if God is so good?' He is a distinguished theologian who, amongst others, taught the current Archbishop of Canterbury! Rokeby Inn at 10.00am
