The clock! It is working again but not quite as it should. For the moment, it must be disconnected when the bells are ringing to prevent the clock hammers striking the swinging bells. This means that on Sundays, when the bells are being rung, the clock will be stopped for up to an hour before the service and restarted (with the correct time) shortly after the ringing stops. Unfortunately therefore you cannot rely on the clock to see if you are early or late for the service! Apologies for this and also for the long delay in getting the clock working. We hope everything will be completely back to normal in 2 to 3 weeks’ time when the Sanctus bell (striking on the c1500 "Easby Bell") should also be working.
