We have so many happy memories of Richmond and St Mary’s, and we will certainly be back from time to time. It has been rather a long goodbye, but by the time you read this we will be gone! Thank you for your encouragement and your friendship, over so many years. May God bless you, and all the work you do in His name. The next meeting of Richmond Deanery Synod is to be held tomorrow, Monday Oct 31st at 7:00pm for 7.15pm at St Paul’s Church Hall, Brompton-on-Swale DL10 7HF. As the Venerable Beverley Mason, our Archdeacon, will be coming to introduce herself, this will be an open meeting to which everyone is invited. Fun-Key Church is today at 4pm when we will be looking at the theme "Blessed!" There will be plenty of crafts and activities, prayers, hymns, and most importantly a warm welcome & a relaxed atmosphere. Refreshments will be available from 3.40pm. Fun, faith and fellowship for all ages. After the cards and visitors - Bereavement is a very difficult time for the spouse/partner left behind. Starting again on your own is even more difficult. Carrie and Anne will be meeting in the Greyfriars Restaurant for coffee and a chat on Tuesday, 1st November at 10.30 and would really like it if you could join them. Olive Harrison is holding her annual Macmillan coffee days on Thursday 3rd November and Friday 4th November. Please support anytime between 9.30am and 7.00pm both days at 15 Darlington Road. Raffle and tombola. The Charity of the month collection next week will be Christians Against Poverty. They help over 29000 people a year in this country who are desperately trying to manage debt, struggling to find work and provide for their families or trying to overcome a dependency. The charity gives free debt help and also runs job clubs, release clubs and money courses. Operation Christmas Child (Shoebox Appeal) Please see leaflets at the back of church. Covered boxes also available in the Welcome Area at the Methodist church. If you'd like to help in checking the filled boxes, there is a meeting in the Methodist Hall 9.30am, Monday 7th November when basic training will be given for helpers. Packing and checking boxes, at the same venue, 9.30am onwards on Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri between 7th and 18th November when you can also return your filled boxes. This year the boxes will be going to one of the Balkan countries. We have a few spaces available to visit Taylors Bell Foundry in Loughborough to see Richmond's new bells being cast on Thursday November 17th & Thursday December 8th. Places available on a 'first come first served' basis; please sign the sheet at the back of Church or telephone Liz Foster on 01748 825562. Please note this is a working, Victorian foundry and it is essential to wear strong shoes and suitable clothing. The bus is provided through our Heritage Lottery funding so there is no charge for the travel. We leave Richmond at 9.00 and expect to arrive back at about 18.45/19.00.
