Our Lenten journey begins on 10th February this year. There will be a service of Holy Communion at 9:15 am and 7.30 pm on that day, which is Ash Wednesday. We then have Churches Together in Richmond Lent home groups you can join called “Psalms – prayers for today’s church”, commencing w/c 15th February. Thursday 4th February 12.00pm Christians Together in Richmond Prayers in Holy Trinity led by the Roman Catholics Fun-Key Church @ St Mary's is today at 4pm, with refreshments from 3.40pm. Our theme is Candlemas when we will be looking at how Jesus is the light of the world. We will be looking at what that means and the different purposes of lights. We have crafts and activities, prayers, hymns, space to think, and so much more. We look forward to welcoming friends old and new. Fun, faith and fellowship for all ages. Next Sunday is our voluntary charitable retiring collection, which will be for Mercy Ships, providing the largest charitable floating hospital in the world. It is staffed almost entirely by volunteers and brings free medical care to very poor people.
Also next Sunday is Illuminate with guest musician Alice Saddington and the talk will be by Rev John. Illuminate will be celebrating its 1st Anniversary in the usual way, with cake. Saturday 13th February 10.00am at the Rokeby Inn. Father Henry Wansbrough, speaking on the subject 'How much do we know what Jesus said?' - Fr. Henry, who is based at Ampleforth, is a distinguished theologian who was appointed by the Pope to the Anglican/Roman Catholic commission set up to improve relations between the two churches. He is in great demand as a speaker being witty and comprehensible!
Friday 4th March Women’s World Day of Prayer. The service will be held this year at the Roman Catholic Church at 1.30pm.
