‘Counting Your Blessings’ is a very helpful and useful resource to use throughout Lent, thinking about a different blessing every day and putting aside a suggested sum of money for each blessing that we enjoy or take for granted. There will be a copy at the back of church and Judith Barber (01748 824656) will order more for anyone interested. REMINDER – ANNUAL CHURCH REPORT 2015 Every year the diocese requires churches to provide a written record of their work during the previous year [i.e. 2013-14] It is usual to submit this before Annual Church Meetings are held. St Mary’s is no exception and must submit its report, which contains 16-17 short reports, before the Annual Church Meeting in April. So that it can be compiled in good time will those people who are responsible for providing one or more of the short reports please let me have them no later than Sunday 8th March, and earlier if possible. Please send them to me by email at: harrisson1@aol.com or telephone: 07894668005, or see me in church to make a different arrangement. Thank you, Sheila Harrisson Lent Course: PRAISE HIM – SONGS OF PRAISE IN THE NEW TESTAMENT “We are used to singing hymns of praise but often miss the hymns and poems that are there in the New Testament. This course explores five different Songs of Praise from the New Testament – what they tell us about God and Jesus, but also what they tell us about ourselves and our faith.” This is a 5 week York Course commencing 23 rd February. The times and venues are on the sheets at the back of church. Please put your name against one of the venues so that the appropriate number of books can be ordered. Family Help Darlington (Women’s Refuge) The Mothers’ Union are supporting this organisation during the coming year by collecting cleaning materials, dusters, dishcloths etc. to be included in a box of equipment the women are given when they leave the refuge.
