All those in particular need of God’s comfort and healing, including, Alfred Wood, Mark Willey, Gavin Wheldon, Lorna Stewart, Janet Smith, Len Scrafton, Rita Rodber, Bill Overall, Jennifer Mole, Jasmine Guy, David Gillie, Richard Gazzard, Janet Emmerson, Ellie Brand, Lucinda Bewick, Harry Bell, George Bell, Jenny Beaumont, Barbara Beatham, Enid Alderson, Bill Abbott, and all the patients at the Friary Hospital. BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE – Any names to be entered in this Book should be given to Ann McDonald (01748 823223) along with the date of death and a donation of £5 Olive Wood Products from the Holy Land – will be on sale next week (15th November) after the 10.00am service but not today owing to the Remembrance Service. The Darlington Family Help Refuge have written: ‘to express our grateful thanks for your generous donations of cleaning materials, these are such a useful donation and will save the charity a lot of money over the next few months.’ They also thanked us for the cash donation and ended ‘thank you for your continued support of the Family Help Refuge, your prayers are also very much appreciated


Thank you to everyone who donated to the collection for Barnados. £226.45 was raised which will be gift aided and so increase the amount. The next charity collection is on Sunday December 6th. Next Sunday, 4.00pm Café Church. An informal service during which we enjoy time together with home baking and refreshments, round cafe style tables. Speaker Janet Henderson, who many will remember as Archdeacon of Richmond. There will be opportunity for questions and discussion around her subject of "The path of prayer: does praying change anything?" We will close with the quiet service of compline. A Concert by Musicality who will perform a selection of spirituals, popular classics, works by choral composers and a selection of songs for advent, in aid of the Bell Restoration Appeal. Tickets £7, to include wine & cakes available from Castle Hill Bookshop, TIC or Peter Trewby (824468).

Saturday 28th November Christian Aid Coffee Morning This is our annual Richmond Churches coffee morning and 8 helpers are needed to cover St Mary’s slot, between 10.40am and noon. The Catholic Church is covering 8.00-9.20am and the Methodists 9.2010.40am. Offers of help to Anne Simpson, Sheila Pearson or Judith Barber. There will also be a cake stall so any cakes/jams/chutneys will be gratefully received.


Tuesday 1st December 2.00pm the Mothers’ Union Advent Service in St Mary’s followed by tea and cake. Saturday 5th December from 9.30am Church Christmas Cleaning Sunday 6th December, 7.00pm Christmas at Marrick candle-lit entertainment and supper. Friday 11th December – Decorating church for Christmas. The Flower Guild will be in church from 10.00am. A Concert by the Dalesfolk, current & previous line-up, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the group. Adm. £5 inc. pie and peas supper. Proceeds to St Mary’s Church Funds & Hudswell Garden Club.
