Synopsis The school marching band is one of the most important activities that Gimnasio Campestre has. The marching band was created 62 years ago and in this video there is the process that this band do all along this school year. The process starts with the first presentation of the band bosses in the year ending ceremony passing through many flag risings, new song arrangements, Gimnasio Femenino presentation, Batuta de Plata practices and ended with Marymount presentation.
Notes from the project I have been a member of the band since I was in 4th grade and the band represents the Gimnasio Campestre ideals really good, by the sacrifice, compromise and effort that the students have on it. That´s the reason why I do my project about the band, showing in a video the process of the band, filming different band practices, to show everybody why the band is an activity that characterizes Gimnasio Campestre and to also show all the effort and the process that the band have during the year by their preparation to raise the name of the school really high in Batuta de Plata Marching Band Competition. The first thing was film the videos of the band all along the year with the idea to have all the videos and after that start the editing part which basically consist in selecting the better videos or part of those videos in which all the process is represented to show exactly the process. The editing part was the most difficult part because I need to select the same volume to all videos and also to select some little parts of those huge videos in where there was really good material. One of the problems I got was that I filmed two days but the volume was not good so my process started to be longer from what I really need. But the final production was a high quality video that represented all what I want and that I mentioned at the start.
Potential Demographic The target audience is the Gimnasio Campestre community members who are normally seeing part of the process, but with this documentary the idea is to end showing how the things that they normally do not see are made. Also as an important part is that it will be circulate via Vimeo and Youtube, which will be also available for more people and that will open many gates to be in some scholar, national or international events about documentaries. But first of all the target audience is the school community members because this is a school activity.
Words from the director After more than a year, the process came to the end. A process that was really long but that was interesting. The final production of the documentary is a success and shows the effort of a year of work in the same area. Also I am sure that the video shows all I want which is a good goal because sometimes is not easy to show those iteams as you want. There were some problems but they were solved in order to obtain that amazing final product. To finish I just cold say that I am very happy about this process that I can evaluate as a success
