PURPOSE
BE CHALLENGED RESEARCH CREATE MAKE POSSIBLE COMMUNICATE
When I design, I think about the complete concept from start to finish. How will it communicate via print, via web? How will it work interactively? What typeface identifies with the company identity and can communicate respectively over a period of time? What layout works best that can progress with the company and represent the brand across all media? These are a few of the questions that come to mind when I approach a branding package. The levels of thought and collaboration are what inspire me to dig deeper, create stronger and build an incredible design. When designing, I enjoy defining the audience and demographic, focusing on relationships between design elements and communication; working with a notable typeface, an enticing grid, great colors, textures and patterns that will succeed across different media. I research techniques and styles, read continuously, and attend design community meet-ups and seminars to learn about typography, grid systems, branding, and to participate in design conversation. Great inspirations include: Communication Arts magazine, Print magazine, dwell magazine, Steven Heller, Louise Fili, Paul Shaw, Ellen Lupton, Eden Spiekermann, and Erik Spiekermann. Also, my design library has grown tremendously! I taught drawing & painting, graphic design & typography, as well as advised and guided the yearbook production for an all girl’s high school, and now I am moving forward into my design career. Interacting well in collaborative situations and working with the clientele of the faculty and administration, yearbook advising and teaching arts at an institution provided me with a great foundation in innovation and enterprise. I want to share ideas, contribute to and participate in your collaborative projects, creating effective materials that best represent your company. Hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
