Please remember that exploring camp means walking. Wear comfortable closed toed shoes and casual clothing. This is your chance to explore camp. No need to register; come and visit us. Register for a resident camp session at any Open House, using our computers, and receive a $20 credit! Registration assistance is available for online registration; paper registration accepted only from non-GSLE girls at www.gsle.org.

She’ll learn new skills, experience teamwork, and have a camp experience she’s wild about. Let’s explore together!
Priority Registration: This opportunity is perfect for girls who want to guarantee their group’s placement in a desired session; or for an individual who wants to secure her spot! At priority registration, council staff will assist you in the online registration process; you will have access to council laptops or tablets (or bring your own!) and internet and will be placed in your desired session before general registration opens! Must be present to participate.

Spend three days with the woman you admire most! Go on a trust hike together, make jewlery, and canoe around the lake! You will enjoy many other activities like archery (Juniors+), swimming, horseback riding (Juniors+) or pony rides (Brownies), and the low ropes course. This is a staff-led event in which “campers” (adults and girls) will follow the lead of their facilitators during activities. Adults are responsible for the supervision of their own camper during activities, down time, and kapers. Limit: each girl may bring one female adult. Participants will be grouped for activities/lodging depending on the camper’s grade level. Lodging, food, daily snack, activity supplies, facilitator fees, first aid services, and medication administration included in adult and camper prices. One day you will spend time practicing your basic skills on the high ropes course; the next day you will complete challenges on that same course. Are you ready for the ULTIMATE CHALLENGE where you’ll get down and dirty? We hope so, because during this session you will be learning survival tips and tricks to make it through the week; such as fire building, making a shelter, and filtering your own water. You will snorkel, go boating, and clear a trail. Pack your backpack light; you will be backpacking around camp, changing your primitive tent camping site at least twice and cooking outside most meals! Still not convinced? How does ziplining, swimming, and archery sound? When you finish your session, you will receive the Ultimate Recreation Challenge outdoor badge. Camp financial assistance Financial assistance is available for one camp session to those demonstrating financial need and will be a percentage of the session fee. Camp Financial Assistance Request applications are due by March 1, 2016. After this date funds may be limited, but applications will be accepted for review. If you wish to request financial assistance, please complete the form and attach it to your daughter’s registration form. Payment are required with a completed financial assistance form. Return the confidential application with your daughter’s camp registration form. Forms due
All forms are due to the Resident Camp registrar at Headquarters three weeks prior to the start of the session. Forms can be found in the mailed confirmation packet or online at www.gsle.org. The forms due three weeks before the session are Camper Information Sheet, Health Form filled out by a licensed physician, and Camper Fun Form. The forms due at camp check-in are the Trading Post Form and Medication Administration Form.

Partial refunds (less $50 cancellation fee) may be given in some instances and are considered on a case by case basis. Written requests for a refund must be received by the council at least three weeks prior to the opening day of the session. A partial refund (less $50 cancellation fee) may be secured if the council receives a written certificate from a licensed M.D. stating she is unable to attend her camp session or if there is a family emergency. No refund will be given if a camper is sent home due to unacceptable behavior or homesickness. Full refunds will only be issued for sessions canceled by the council.

ACA Accreditation Girl Scout Camp Marydale and Camp Whispering Pines are accredited by the American Camp Association. Accreditation means that each camp undergoes a thorough review process by outside camping professionals every three years. Our Girl Scout camps consistently achieve the highest standards in the areas of personnel, program, site administration, and health care.

Who are the camp counselors? Our counselors are selected based on their program skills, maturity, education, caring attitude, and experience with children. Counselors are primarily college students, both female and male, with male counselors housed in separate quarters. Program areas, such as ropes course, horses, swimming and boating, are directed by certified and trained staff. All of our staff must successfully complete precamp staff training, pass background screening and become members of Girl Scouts of the USA.
Girl Scout summer camp is for every girl, even those not yet in Girl Scouts! For girls new to Girl Scouting, simply include the $15 annual national membership dues along with the camp session fees and Resident Camp registration form at www.gsle.org.
