letter from our president Dear Potential New Members, On behalf of our Panhellenic Community, I am ecstatic to welcome you to recruitment! Every woman’s recruitment experience is unique and special. We all go through recruitment for various reasons, but we each want the same outcome; to find the sorority where we belong! When going through recruitment, I encourage you to keep an open mind while meeting all of these amazing women. Each chapter promotes values of academic excellence, leadership development, philanthropic involvement, and creating a bond of sisterhood that will last beyond the years of college. Sorority life provides you with the opportunity to meet so many strong, passionate, and skilled women who wish to help you succeed and be the best version of yourself. Being a sorority woman and Panhellenic President is one of the greatest experiences I have had while attending Wright State University. It has allowed me to grow as a leader, a scholar, a friend, and a businesswoman. When you join a sorority, you are not just joining an organization. You are joining a community, a home away from home, and a family. These will be the women that are there for you at the best and worst times of your life. I have truly been transformed into the best version of myself and I can only hope that sorority life impacts you in the same positive way that it did for me. I think I can speak for the entire Panhellenic Community when I say that we are all looking forward to meeting you at Fall Formal Recruitment! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact myself, other CPH executive members, or your recruitment counselor! Good Luck with Recruitment! Victoria McCoy Panhellenic President

Potential New Member Bill of Rights

Each Potential New Member has: •The right to be treated as an individual. •The right to be fully informed about the recruitment process. •The right to ask questions and receive true and objective answers from recruitment counselors and members. •The right to be treated as a capable and mature person without being patronized. •The right to ask how and why and receive straight answers. •The right to have and express opinions to the recruitment counselors. •The right to have inviolable confidentiality when sharing information with recruitment counselors. •The right to make informed choices without undue pressure from others. •The right to be fully informed about the binding agreements implicit in the preference card signing. •The right to make one’s own choice and decision and accept full responsibility for the results of that decision. •The right to have a positive, safe, and enriching recruitment and new member period. •The right to not be persuaded by a sorority member to resign her bid to any sorority during her new member period.

rules you should know Recruitment Counselors will keep you conversations and preferences confidential. During recruitment, online contact between PNMs and sorority women is not allowed. Alcohol and men are not allowed at recruitment events. You may not leave a round with any item that you did not bring with you. There is a mandatory period of silence between preference parties until Bid Day. Sororities may not promise a potential new member a bid - if this happens, please tell your recruitment counselor immediately. Wright State University has a zero-tolerance policy regarding hazing that is consistent with Ohio antihazing legislation. As listed in the WSU Student Handbook, “No student organization, individual student, or alumnus shall conduct nor condone hazing activities. Hazing activities are defined as: "Any action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off the campus premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule. (Wright State Student Handbook) Hazing is not tolerated. If you believe you're involved in inappropriate activities as a result of membership in a fraternity or sorority, contact the Office of Greek Life. Calls will be handled in an immediate and discreet manner.

best advice When going into rounds... ...be open-minded. ...ask what qualities you share with women in that chapter. ...ask if you feel comfortable around the women in that chapter. ...ask what sisterhood with that chapter can offer you. ...think for yourself - joining a sorority is an important personal decision. ...try not to think about what your friends' opinions of the chapter or about which chapters they want to join.

Reminder! Talk to your recruitment counselor about anything on in your mind! They disaffiliated from their chapter to help YOU! Ask them for advice, ask them about their experiences from recruitment, they went through it, too!

be your best self! One of the biggest questions from PNMs each year is, "What do I wear each day?" The answer is: WHATEVER YOU WANT! We want you to dress to be confident in yourself. Wear something that makes you feel comfortable, and that expresses who you are. That bring said, here are a few guidelines to help you out: September 8, 2017 - Philanthropy Round Casual/cute. Jeans, nice shorts, or a skirt are great options for this round, and pair it with a cute top! Think of this round as a first date, make a great impression and feel good doing it! September 9, 2017 - Sisterhood Round Same as Philanthropy round! September 10, 2017 - Preference Round Cocktail attire. Think of this round as a job interview at your dream job. Cocktail dresses or nice pants with a professional top are both great options for this round! Something to take into consideration: Wear comfortable shoes! Some days you'll stand during the rounds and we will walk across campus to get to a computer lab after rounds, BE COMFORTABLE!
