The Octangula Step Stool was inspired by the stella octangula figure in M.C. Escher’s wood engraving “Stars”.
The task of this project was to create a structure that was able to hold 250lbs. As well as on the weight, I focused on the effect that the negative space created in between the triangle shapes of the stool.
This wood piece is held together by 8 lap joins, 4 doweled joints and wood glue.
