RACING SINCE Our Heritage Runs Deep

In the foothills of Los Angeles, California during the 1960’s, things were a bit different. The decade of change was rapidly approaching and the landscape of Americana was quickly taking root in the valleys and mountains surrounding the City of Angels. It was here along the local hillsides and trails that a young man named Jim O’Neal would ride his modified Triumph to High School. After school and on weekends Jim would push that modified Triumph through its paces hitting the dirt trails and carved tracks that peppered the hillside above the city. In 1966 these same riding locations just outside the city became host to America’s first Motocross race at Hopetown. It was then that Jim's passion for riding quickly turned into racing and in 1970 the company O’NEAL was born. Jim found himself driven to distribute better parts, apparel and accessories to allow young racers on two wheels to go further and ride faster than ever before. Today you can find the O’NEAL US office just a few miles from that old Hopetown track. In the office you can find our dedicated team members still pushing to develop product to take you further and faster on two wheels than ever before. And still today on those tracks and trails just outside this great city you will find Jim O’Neal pushing his passions to the limits every chance he gets. 48 years later you can find O’NEAL product at nearly 7,000 retail locations worldwide. At O’Neal we use COOLMAX® fabric in several product lines including helmet liners and protection. COOLMAX® wicks moisture faster than regular polyester and allows quicker evaporation. As the sweat evaporates more quickly, the rider is kept dry. Other useful properties include resistance to fading, shrinking and wrinkling to help increase the life of the product.
