Landscape Architect

I graduated March 2019 from University of Genua in the Master of Landscape Architecture with a thesis on the regeneration of a manufactured site. Previously, I graduated 2015 from IUAV University of Venice, Bachelor in Science of Architecture. Between Bachelor and Master, I lived in Berlin (DE) for over a year, improving my language skills and defining my growing interest in landscape architecture, also thank to an internship in a studio in the city. This experience finally lead me to begin my Master studies. After graduating, I joined an international project held by Italia Nostra Onlus. I recently passed the State Examination for the qualification as a Landscape Architect.

About me I consider myself positive and open minded, ready for new experiences and personal growth possibilities. I am an active person with the capacity to adapt myself in any new situations, for new tasks and works: this helps me find my limits and lets me think of rational and creative solutions. I am passionate about architecture, landscape architecture, art, music, photography, design: basically about all man made creativity and artistic instinct; I also like to express myself with music, photography and writings. Another great passion is nature and the outdoors, especially the mountain landscapes, mountain sports and outdoors activity. I’m seeking to expand my cultural heritage, and for this reason I love travelling and discover more of our world.

Ex Caemento Landscape regeneration of an industrial site in the context of the Euganean Hills: the Italcementi case in Monselice

- Location: Monselice (IT) - Size: 60 Acres - Project type: Master Thesis

6

Abstract | The landscape redevelopment of a post-industrial site is a process that requires careful analysis and deep knowledge of the environmental context in which the manufactured site is situated. The decision to examine the former cement plant Italcementi located in Monselice, Italy and to create a redevelopment project was dictated by the considerable impact that this abandoned production site has had on the surrounding landscape. Its history and its shutting down are linked to the vicissitudes of the nearby Euganean Hills’ stone quarries and to the various events that have negatively affected the territory and its population. A rapid and effective redevelopment is nowdays necessary in order to rehabilitate the site and its natural context that has hosted it since the 1950s. The project presented in the thesis aims to take into consideration the history of the territory, the peculiarities of the Euganean Hills, the social developments related to the shut down of the cement plant and to the regulations and amendments adopted by the local and regional authorities; these were intended to propose a masterplan in aid of the environmental and ecological redevelopment, of the conversion and regeneration of the site. The concept of this project is based on a site reintegrated into its natural setting, in order to be able both to offer a didactic function and strengthen its attractiveness for the needs of the citizens, with the introduction of a scientific and technological centre for the research of innovative tools aimed to raise awareness of environmental issues.

Landscape Architecture Design Techniques Project on planning and designing a private roof terrace

- Location: private house terrace in via Porta Soprana, Genova ITA - Size: 66,8 m2 - Project type: theoretical examination/design exercise

The project was part of a theoretical examination about design techniques and methods; the design exercise was mandatory in order to apply knowledge acquired during the course. The drafted project is about the redefinition and restyling of a private roof terrace in a great position in the centre of Genova. The main purpose of the exercise was to solve some internal and external problems of the site (such as degradation, non-use, non-functional areas, poor views, wind, sun) through design and re-thinking of such a private space that could offer more living possibilities and solutions to the owners.

Feedback • Private area • Poorly managed and organized • Lack of appropriate outdoor furniture • Presence of degrading elements (chimneys, flooring) • Incorrect drainage of water • Almost no presence of green

Strategies • Renovation of drainage paving • Degraded walls covering/demolition • External degrading elements covering with climbing plants • Partial shielding from wind • Addition of suitable furniture • Creation of flowerbeds for edible and aromatic species • Green barriers to privacy • Creation of a pergola with climbing plants • Enhancement of pleasant views

Project on the planning and reorganization of the activities and offers of a ligurian inland valley

- Location: Val Cichero, Chiavari (GE) ITA - Size: 2’270 Acres - Project type: curricular examination

The project theme consisted in repopulating a historical rural landscape, located at the edge of a metropolitan area and adjacent to protected sites of natural interest of the ligurian mountain environment. The main features and potentials of Val Cichero were analized and this project suggests strategies and solutions for the valorization, preservation and enhancement of the rural and natural landscape. The main objectives set in the project are the enhancement and development of the activities and of the main attractiveness of the valley, the realization of an agrarian syndicate/collectivity and the enhancement of the hiking network. The accomplishment of these objectives will be possible through the realization of a touristic network integrated and cooperating with the improved economical and rural system and the protection of the environment.

The northern area, due to its steep slopes, is characterized by the presence of pastures and areas with sparse or absent vegetation. Near the valley floor areas, in the north and centre, are found mainly terraced agricultural crops. From south to north, the use of land is strongly influenced by the morphologies of the territory.

Workshop: Villa Tebaide private park Project on the renovation of a XVII century Villa park and gardens

- Location: Varallo Sesia (VC) ITA - Size: 2,05 Acres - Project type: curricular workshop

The workshop consisted in a heterogeneous diversity of themes, each assigned to individual groups of students. The assigned theme concerned the requalification and reorganization of the private park of “Villa Tebaide, in Varallo Sesia (VC) in the Piedmont prealps, through its redefinition and re-functionalisation, considering possible strategies for changing the use of the historical Villa. The proposed project provides solutions for the inclusion of the Villa in the artistic context of the city, offering the opportunities for art exhibitions, concerts, conferences and theater performances. The objectives are the recovery of the park and the targeted design of spaces for private use (vegetable gardens, swimming pool, sauna) and public (multifunctional space, secret garden, garden of the fountain).

Internships

Landschaftsarchitekten U. Brzezek., C. Loderer

Plancontext Landschaftsarchitektur Berlin, 2016

42 - Location: Greifenhagener StraĂ&#x;e 39, 10437 Berlin - Duration: May - September 2016 - Main occupations: CAD drawings, modeling, post-production

This working/learning experience came after my bachelor graduation in Architecture. I was already deeply interested in Landscape Architecture: working for this studio taught me a lot on the subject and made me understand the path I chose was the right one. The main projects I gave my contribution were the WĂźrzburg Garden Festival, the Berlin Bundestag Courtyard and the Dresden Promenadenring. For each of them i was asked to personally design thematic gardens, roofed outdoors structures, bycicle parkings, urban and outdoors furniture and to give my impressions and ideas on the projects. Most of the work was CAD drawing, modeling and Photoshop post-production of plans, sections and renders. I also had the chance to survey the building sites as an assistant. All images presented in this chapter are kindly offered by the Studio, which owns their rights.

Torino, 2018

- Location: Via Sant’Antonio da Padova 8a, 10121 Torino - Duration: November - December 2018 - Main occupations: CAD drawings, modeling, post-production, in-site inspections and works I began this internship during my master studies, as it was mandatory as an experience to gain necessary credits. I asked Ginkgo Giardini because I liked the young team and fresh ideas in the context of the city; moreover, many of my university colleagues took an internship with this studio. The experience was fulfilling, I’ve been working together with architect Pepe on various projects of gardens and terraces, the main object of their projects. She made me contribute with ideas since the very beginning, and we worked on them together, producing graphic works. We frequently had to go out, surveying building sites, meeting new clients or working directly on the sites with the building team. All images presented in this chapter are kindly offered by the Studio, which owns their rights.
