ICE Quanto magico è immaginare di assistere in silenzio al teatro della vita, aprire il sipario, essere l’opera che hai dipinto, tracciare un percorso, iniziare un viaggio. How magical is it to imagine watching the theater of life in silence, open the curtain, be the work you painted, trace a path, start a journey.

“Image the invisible” Behind human thought there is darkness. Behind human thought, Giorgio Dalla Costa traces the beginnings of an art in the making. Nothing is written, nothing comes from a pre-established planning. We are naked, in front of the canvas; we observe ourselves at the mercy of the unknown, aware that something is about to happen. It is the poetry of art, a moment, a split second that ignites the fuse of life, of real life, made of passion and sincerity. Nothing hides a blank canvas. It is a question, nothing more than a question we ask ourselves. Dalla Costa is the poet sitting on the shore of a silent sea, waiting for the roar of the waves which, once distant, is getting closer and closer until it becomes a deafening scream. Giorgio gets up, attacks the canvas, screams its waves, investing the surface with colors that recall the soul. And we look astonished at the great spectacle of art, the mother nature of a man who suddenly has a thousand stories to tell, collected in a brush, in a gesture, in a simple, univocal movement. It seems to live the experience of a birth, it is felt by the vibrations of the canvas, in the cathartic ecstasy of one who speaks the language of the contemporary, hero of our times often made by the superficiality of the mass media. An interior meditation so profound that it pushes Dalla Costa to touch it, the canvas, while it is still soaked in acrylic color spread with large dynamic swirls in the most typical informal gesture. Alchemy? Art or Poetry? Dalla Costa is the irrevocable set of smoking stills, dripping brushes and still unwritten letters. He is sitting now, Giorgio. Minutes to observe every single passage, every single drop of sweat spread in that story, exhausted, but still looking for a last moment, a last gesture, to be able to consider his story, finished. Only then do the lights come on, the stage shudders, the audience applauds. His journey is over, behind his soul, now, we can read a darkness made of yellows and reds, acrylic blacks when our eyes merge with those brushstrokes. A moment, which from now on is called Art.

Giorgio Dalla Costa was born in 1970 in Arzignano (VI); in 1988 he graduated from Advertising Graphic Designer and two years later he opened an advertising and communication studio which he led until 2002, when he decided to devote himself definitively to art. September 2015 _ Matteo Vanzan

“Immagina l’invisibile” Dietro il pensiero umano c’è l’oscurità. Dietro il pensiero umano Giorgio Dalla Costa traccia i primordi di un’arte in divenire. Nulla è scritto, nulla deriva da una progettualità precostituita. Siamo nudi, di fronte alla tela; osserviamo noi stessi in balia dell’ignoto, consci che qualcosa sta per avvenire. È la poesia dell’arte, un momento, una frazione di secondo che accende la miccia della vita, della vita vera, fatta di passione e di sincerità. Nulla nasconde una tela bianca. È una domanda, null’altro che una domanda che rivolgiamo a noi stessi. Dalla Costa è il poeta seduto in riva ad un mare silenzioso, in attesa del fragore delle onde che, un tempo lontano, si avvicina sempre più fino a divenire urlo assordante. Si alza, Giorgio, aggredisce la tela, urla le sue onde investendo la superficie di colori che richiamano l’anima. E noi osserviamo attoniti il grande spettacolo dell’arte, madre natura di un uomo che improvvisamente ha mille storie da raccontare, raccolte in un pennello, in un gesto, in un semplice, univoco, movimento. Sembra di vivere l’esperienza di una nascita, la si avverte dalle vibrazioni della tela, nell’estasi catartica di colui che parla il linguaggio del contemporaneo, eroe dei nostri tempi fatti spesso dalla superficialità dei mass media. Una meditazione interiore così profonda che spinge Dalla Costa a toccarla, la tela, mentre ancora è fradicia di colore acrilico steso con ampie volute dinamiche nel più tipico gesto informale. Alchimia? Arte o Poesia? Dalla Costa è l’insieme irrevocabile di alambicchi fumanti, pennelli grondanti e lettere ancora non scritte. È seduto ora, Giorgio. Minuti ad osservare ogni singolo passaggio, ogni singola goccia del sudore steso in quel racconto, esausto, ma ancora in cerca di un ultimo momento, un ultimo gesto, per poter considerare il suo racconto, terminato. Solo allora le luci si accendono, il palco freme, il pubblico applaude. Il suo viaggio è concluso, dietro la sua anima, ora, riusciamo a leggere un’oscurità fatta di gialli e rossi, neri acrilici nel momento in cui i nostri occhi si fondono con quelle pennellate. Un momento, che da ora, viene chiamato Arte.

GHIACCIO / ICE Fibra del pensiero che si trasforma. Luce che emerge dal buio. Riflessi nascosti in profondità. Argento, oro, azzurro, blu, nero. Si apre un mondo, tanti piccoli dettagli emergono per inabissarsi nella profondità della tela, quasi fosse una pelle sensibile a tutto ciò che la circonda. Transforming fiber of thought. Light emerging from the dark. Deep hidden reflections. Silver, gold, light blue, blue, black. A world opens up, many small details emerge to sink into the depth of the canvas, as if it were skin sensitive to everything that surrounds it.

A bike frame, in this case a 3T Exploro becomes a canvas, expresses my choice of life, accepting and thanking the art that manifests itself free, without compromise, traveling, dreaming, feeling free.
