who we are and what we strive for AdventurAfrica is the brainchild of Giorgio Trucco and Koko Kosila.

s engineers, trainers, climbers, hikers, bikers, canyoneers, builders, cooks, writers and photographers coming from different paths of life, we joined forces to give birth to a lifelong dream. We left our office jobs and set off towards higher goals in life with a deeply rooted belief in the power of personal evolution through mindful firsthand experience. Today AdventurAfrica is a small and unique safari outfitting and guiding service specializing in adventure travels, photo safaris and experiential education. If you are looking for a different concept, a different product and a different approach to African safaris, we are and we provide all of the above! Whether it’s simply wildlife viewing, participating in a cultural exchange or honing skills in a photography workshop, we not only strive for an indelible experience, but one in which the traveler is transformed.

AdventurAfrica specialized utility vehicle
T
he mode of transport used for our trips and expeditions is an IVECO ACM80 4x4, a mid-size military utility vehicle we retrofitted exclusively with African safaris in mind.
Everything on board has been designed and handcrafted to provide passengers with comfort and enjoyment. Its height, significantly taller than the traditional safari vehicles, makes it an ideal asset for wildlife viewing and photography. Our vehicle is equipped with 12 independent, comfortable, tour bus style seats with over 90cm between rows to ensure plenty of comfort and freedom of movement to all passengers, and comes equipped with a spacious refrigerator, a fully equipped camp kitchen, three burner gas range, tents and 5 cm sleeping pads, 12V DC and 110/220V AC plugs to recharge cellphones and camera batteries, comfortable custom-made step ladder for ease of passenger loading and unloading, spacious cargo area, radio, GPS, internet connection, sound system and everything needed to make our safaris safe and enjoyable. Click here for more information When we started pondering our choice of a safari vehicle we took into consideration a wide range of options, from the German living legend Unimog to the undeterred American trucks. In the end we opted for the all-Italian FIAT IVECO ACM80, both a field and time tested mid-size vehicle capable of handling the worst African tracks with ease and, of course, a touch of Italian style and elegance. The military grade construction and amazing 4x4 skills earned the IVECO ACM series an outstanding reputation as a reliable and eye-catching workhorse. When we started retrofitting it we didn’t take any shortcuts. We designed and custom made every component that today makes our ACM an experience-defining vehicle, capable of pleasing even the most discerning adventurer and safari enthusiast.

WHAT WE ARE: We are an unconventional safari guiding service that prides itself on excellence. We are experiential education advocates seeking to facilitate safari experiences where higher levels of awareness can be reached. We are friendly people catering to our guests individually and embracing responsibility over sense of entitlement. We are professional photographers offering wildlife and reportage photography tuition during all our trips. We are certified safari guides who speak English, Italian and Swahili. WHAT WE ARE NOT: We are NOT a classic safari company with hundreds of vehicles to manage. We are NOT an overland company with tens of people to tend to on a single trip. We are NOT people inclined to take shortcuts or the easy way out. Integrity is paramount, as is awareness.

A traveler at heart, I reached for Africa as soon as I could, exposing myself to a life-changing experience, as I realized it was time to own my vision and to find the courage to pursue my lifelong dreams. It didn’t take long to realize that Africa was no longer a place I wanted to visit, but rather a place I wanted to call home. AdventurAfrica is a reflection of my passion for travels, adventure, wildlife and photography. It is the result of my quest for a higher self and a purer lifestyle, developed in my childhood and enlightening my path for the future to come. It is a testament to the belief that happiness and a deep sense of fulfillment can be achieved when you choose love over fear, and never look back.
In every moment we are both student and teacher. This is an important concept for me, and one that I have always tried to be mindful of, throughout my life. It is also one with which I approach AdventurAfrica, my finest challenge to date. What this means for you, our guest and fellow traveler, is that my presence will be open to yours – always and in all ways. Feel free to ask questions, make comments or simply observe. I was born in Zimbabwe, but have lived most of my life in South Africa (nearly 28 years). I studied Travel and Tourism Business Management at the University, in England, later finding employment in the mining industry as an accountant. It was not what I had envisioned for my life and the call of nature was simply too strong... After a sabbatical year spent traveling between Namibia and Zimbabwe, I realized I had to keep my bearing towards the savannah and not an office. Meeting AdventurAfrica marked a turning point in my search for a path that would allow me to remain in contact with nature as well as my inner self.
