This week, I would like to introduce few brazilian designers, potential sponsors to the show and also to share my perception about the brazilian market. As many of you know, Brazil is an emergent contry and this reflects, not only in ecomic aspects but also in the fashion. The fashion shows are relatively new, debuting in runway in the early 90’s with “Phytoervas Fashion”. After it’s success the event became the most important fashion week in latin america “São Paulo Fashion Week”. One important feature of this event is the concept of “See now, buy now”, which propose “Seasonless” collections. The production will be ready in approximately 6 months, then it ensure the agility to the supply chain and logistics. Another big brazilian events that could be cited was: Fashio Rio. This event no longer exist, and now was replaced to “Veste Rio”, which doesn’t demonstrate the same power in comparison with the previous event. However “Veste Rio” still a good showcase to new talents of fashion. Because of this, I believe Rio de Janeiro would be a great location to WFW’s next show. The city attract tourists the whole year, and in fashion terms it attract Beachwear fashion buyers. Brazil is reference to the beachwear market, and today doesn’t have a specialized beachwear week, like Miami, what led the designers to show their collections in SPFW. Then, I believe it would be a great oportunity to do something unique here, simplify the international and national buyers process and take advantage of one of the best products in Brazil’s luxury Fashion. I will send you some links about the importance of the segment on the body e-mail.

Focusing on influences from her native North East Brazil, Helô Rocha has gained attention at São Paulo Fashion Week with a collection that presents a new take on Bahian culture and the work of local artisans. Rocha’s mixing and matching of different laces, feathers and leathers presents a unique approach to partywear in Brazil that’s updating the market and creating a celebrity following – perfect for consumers who are looking for a more rebellious take on this super-glamorous market segment. Nowadays Helô is working for the “Atelier Le Lis Blanc”, affiliated of one of the biggest textile groups in the country “Restoque”. Is maybe Restoque and potential expositor or sponsor? The first collection arrives to the Flagship at Oscar Freire in september. 6
Martha Medeiros also triggered the passion she always had for her handmade income - traditional Brazilian crafts and, above all, the Northeast - making her her main raw material. It was the touch that made your success in fashion business expand into the great centers of the country and the world. The use of the income - produced exclusively for the brand by artisans from communities in the Northeast of Brazil, which now number more than 450 women - allied to other noble materials such as fabrics from the same suppliers of Parisian couture goods, gave the brand its unique character . Martha is also engaged in social causes like “Primavera no Sertão” that has as objective to bring water to an arid region of Brazil. Her work with the “rendeiras” helps to keep brazilian lace technique alive, and encourage the “rendeiras” work in northwest. https://www. istoedinheiro.com.br/marca-brasileira-que-ganhou-omundo/

Also one of the best designers of all time in Brazil the Paraense designer began his career in the late 1970s, but only in 1982, he opened a store in Fortaleza with his name, in partnership with an Inez woman. Using non-constructional material references, such as haute couture, is recognized by a unique style, dramatic looks, finalized for the same purpose. “Threads of ribbing on fabrics and a black color are two marks”. The designer Lino Villaventura, who already resigned materials such as rubber or string in his creations before the term “sustainability” entered the fashion agenda and always surprised critics and audiences for his work, completes this year 40 years of his career.

The Rosset Group was founded in 1939, in the Bom Retiro neighborhood of São Paulo. From the beginning of its trajectory, the company has committed to the quality and variety of articles that mark the history of the company. Considered the largest textile group in Latin America. The Group is composed of companies Rosset and Doutex, which produce fabrics and laces for the beach, lingerie, fitness and fashion segments; in addition to Estamparia Salete. This group is linked with the famous beachwear brand: Cia Marítima. It would be a great sponsor to Brazil’s fashion show. http://www.rosset.com.br/
