Re-Cycle Trentino

R / 2014 Design lab I

Location: Trento, Italy Type Project: Academic individual project Role Project: Concept Designer, drawer Level Project: First semester 2014 Supervisor: Luigi Stendardo-Stefanos Antoniadis

Re-Cycle Trentino

The research aims to explore the operational impacts of the recycling process on the urban system and the traces of urbanization that affect the territory so that these “materials” will return a part, along with the environmental system, a unique metabolism. The idea of preserving the “urban resource”, as well as preserved forests and rivers, naturalizes the phenomenon, but represents a fundamental shift in policies and projects for the city. It recognizes that there is a progression from birth to aging, but at the same time reacts to the decline claiming the possibility and usefulness of projects, policies and practices capable of activating new life cycles. The aim is to create a new urban lifecycle for those areas, now abandoned and estabilish a new definition of urban spaces and a new cooperation between this areas. The task is going to define the reuse of the area Ex-sit in Trento, through the creation of a new residential structure, called Ex-sit Tower. The masterplan define three different elements, each one former by a tower and a long stick. Each tower is formed by a five residential apartments. The study of the architectural and structural design of the single apartments unit is the task of the architectural composition university course.

06

The dismission of the gasometer area (Ex-Sit) created an important urban void near the ciy center of Trento.

it

Ex-S

The town government created a park in order to fill up this urban void, without dealing with a suitable architectural study.

My proposal is to connect the urban and natural sources present in this wide area throught three residential elements. Three towers and a long stick, each one define by 5 duplex apartments.

The study is concetrate in the second tower, in particulary in the definition of the concept of the duplex apartments .

07

/ ”b” building The second buildings is formed by a long stick and a tower, called “b” tower. The “b” tower is formed by five duplex apartments while in the stick there are commercial and social activities. From the other side of the train tracks there is one other residential university duplex building.

08

/ duplex The tower study is interconnected with the design of the concept for a model duplex that can be repeated in series throughout the height of the tower. The concept is defined by rectangular processing, from pure geometric form to decomposition. Four parallel sets delimit the main space, the idea is to create a telescope that develops parallel to the four sects and ends in the terraces as a continuation element of the concept.

09

/ interior One model unit are formed by two plan. The first one contains the common house area: living room, kitchen area, bathroom and lumber-room. The second one is formed by the most private living area: two bedrooms, two bathroom, wardrobe room, and a long wardrobe leaning the wall next to the stair. The aim is to define a unit minimal living house, for a couple of people .

Duplex-Simplex building

This architectural project deal with the creation of a residential building in Trento, near the historical hill. The aim of the tecnical architecture lab is to define an approach to the elements of the costruction, starting to study the materials, the way to created architectural details and solution for the architecture practice. The building is formed by a duplex apartment and a simplex apartment over it. Each one of three residential unit is linked toghether with different type of stairs and a gallery to reach the sinplex apartments The task is to connect two different but necessary architecture elements: architectural composition and engeneering practice, with the study of architectural details and the way to built it specificaly.

Giudecca

Giudecca is an architectural project that trying to create a building monument into the Venice lagoon linked with the other building of Gino Valle and Valeriano Pastor. The aim is trying to connect this important present building with a new structure that dialogues with their. So the new buildings is configurated on three stairs, each one that hosts several type of university apartments. The two buildings are positioned opposite each other separated by the channel, this created two different realities that dialogoes with the preesisting buildings, trying to figure out the urban void. The main elements is the red wall, on it in fact, as we could see in the main collage of the project, you could see the venetian landscape. This project is configured on this red wall, so the stairs become an element in high that connect this features.

Trinity church

Trinity Church

The Trinity Church, built between 1872 and 1877 and designed by Henry Hobson Richardson, is an Episcopal church located in Boston. It is the building best known American architect and the one that best represents the style typical neoromanico, defined Richardsonian Romanesque. The plan of the church is an expanded version of the Brattle square church. It has a deep choir closed by a semicircular abisde that creates the fourth arm of the cross and a large lantern placed above the cruise. The exterior includes a rich porch of Romanesque origin, and not added later in the draft Richardson. Considered the ultimate expression of the Romanesque Revival architectural movement that is taking root in America from the mid-nineteenth century, the eleventh and twelfth centuries, as a revival of the classical architectural forms. “The style of the church is perhaps mainly characterized by a free interpretation of style” French-Romanesque “particularly straining to special schools flourished in the seventeenth century in central France, the ancient Aequitania” The Richardson’s architectural style blends his deep knowledge French Romanesque architecture, with a personal side and right of his thought, producing an architecture, based heavily on references, but at the same time completely new and original with an eclectic and dramatic style , as to be defined by scholars as “Richarsonian revival.” Its architecture is powerful, monumental deeply attached to the past and moments of his life architect, his buildings seem real fortresses of the past, which strike fear in visitors, thanks to their high impact from an urban point of view , they seem to sink into the ground for their visible heaviness. Boston Trinity Church is a work of deep visual impact on the surrounding architectural elements, building a complete outwardly and inwardly, a total art work of Romanesque clear matrix that represents one of the most important American architecture.

Town Hall

This architectural project is concerned with the reuse of an old school set in a perfect Venetian square. The aim is to give a new function to the school as a new town hall and to design a new architectural element that dialogues with the pre-existence. The need is to preserve a building of significant historical importance and create a modern extension for the public functions such as: council hall, board room and pressroom. The “old school” collects the most purely burocratric functions as the mayor’s offices, technical offices for public works, education and protoco Our proposal is to create a relationship of connection and distance between the two buildings. The old school keeps its original features , the new building instead fits firmly in the pre-existence by the choice of material: reinforced concrete facing bricks. The new extension research through the main entrance a connection with the square, a window to the daily life.

Arruda d/V Parque Urbano

Arruda dos Vinhos parque urbano is an international architecture and landscape contest promoted by the Order of Architects of Portugal (OASRS) and the Arruda dos Vinhos Town Hall. The contest was won by Paratelier on the landscape project and by Pedro Campos Costa Architects on the architecture part. The objective of the contest is to requalify and value the urban area of Rio Grande da Pipa, from the end of Rua Cândido dos Reis to Quinta da Ponte e Costa, in order to be a link between the center of the town and the new Expansion area north of the village. The contest also aimed to contemplate a global perspective on the territory, creating a unique identity for the future transformations of the Village through a critical study on a wider area. The winning proposals are those that best represent a benchmark in the regional panorama, with particular attention to the place of implantation of the park and the need to bring the nature and the river closer to the village and the inhabitants of Arruda dos Vinhos.

A casa imperfeita

The House imperfect is an experimental project created by Paratelier, which seeks to explore and simplify the tools to build. A house designed with the aim of being able to be partially built by those who live there, adding the ‘imperfections’ characteristics of craft work. We go back so to be directly related to the true greatness of the natural materials, built with his own hands what was previously designed in atelier, in a quest to abandon the use of pre-fabricated and standardized elements. Inhabit space not finished, irregular, imperfect; a concrete structure, open to the landscape, is the basis of this practical experience, in which, with the basic construction techniques can be part of a process of preparation, fixing and finishing of integral elements that define the space. And ‘why the relationship between space and body, matter and hands that leads us to integrate the’ imperfect house ‘in an experimental workshop, in which anyone can participate.

OPP Rovigo

The project deals with the historical-critical study of the abandoned mental hospital of Rovigo. The research aims to study and re-use of the pavilion 13: Mensa and housing nuns. The first step was the analysis of the pavilion and the entire complex, from a constructive point of view, in the analysis of materials, manufacturing processes to get to know the set of project. The second step was to analyze the pavilion 13 in its parts, taking care of the materials, the degradation and subsequent interventions. The third step was to reconsider the use of the whole complex and in particular of the pavilion 13, whose role in terms of space and functions is essential. Our proposal was to create a higher education university complex connected to the psychological and psychiatric study. The pavilion 13 becomes the fulcrum of the entire complex, in fact it is reused as a place of workshops, FabLab, where what is studied in the surrounding pavilions, it becomes an element of development in our pavilion. On example of modern information society, such as Google or Facebook, the interior space has been redesigned as a function of an absolute dynamism. it was proposed division between communal and special area, office area, mettings rooms, reception area and prenotation and informal mettings room. Everyone is free to book a classroom and move without brakes inside the pavilion. The aim is to promote a free flow of ideas.

Museum of mosaics

M / 2017 Design lab III

Location: Spilimbergo, Pordenone, Italy Type Project: Academic group project Role Project: Concept Designer, drawer Level Project: Second semester 2017 Supervisor: Umberto Trame, Aldo Norsa

Museum of mosaics

The project is to build a new exhibition complex of the Mosaic School of Spilimbergo within an area already heavily built up and characterized by a particularly poor architectural design. After the demolition, and thus the elimination of some existing buildings, the project give priority to the creation of a museum that lives with two existing buildings: Workers’ Association and Police station. The project has as its primary purpose to communicate deeply with existing buildings, having shapes and sizes that reflect the principal of the context lines, creating a skyline not too invasive, using only one floor above ground and above a path, a fundamental issue in our project idea, to contaminate, to invade and deeply founded with the other buildings. Divided by independent exhibition spaces, the project consequently determines a natural historical flow about the Mosaic development over time, resulting in different epositions room, dedicated to the equally diverse topics, thus transmitting different experiences and sensations thanks to the desire to illuminate environments differently from one another, through zenith and side light. Finally, the museum is also formed of a -1 floor dedicated to the archive of the documentation relating to the works and to the storage where they are preserved the unexposed works; This plan is thus benefited from the same school students, scholars and operators from outside.

Wine mytology label

Wine mytology label is an international design competitions promoted by “Cantina Valpolicella Negrar. Producing wine means going into a complex experience, answering a millennial vocation that transcends entrepreneurial activity, embarking on a journey from ancient, tradition-loving routes, but disseminated with innovation, charm and discovery. It is no coincidence that when Cantina Valpolicella Negrar - a historical reference company in Italian wine production - has decided to associate with its image the identity of an exceptional character, the choice is relinquished to the Ulysses: the traveler by antonomasia, perfect synthesis of those values of attachment to their land, of entrepreneurship, ingenuity and forethought that for decades distinguish the Cantina. It is therefore inspired by the figure of the Ulysses that the Wine Mythology Label, the Cantina Valpolicella Negrar project, was born to dedicate to the Homeric Hero a limited edition of his own wine of excellence -Amarone-, inviting creatives to imagine a label Destined to become an icon, collection item, and object of desire for thousands of fans from all over the world.

92

Brief explanation: We decided to realized this wine label mixing all the things that made us immediately think of Ulysses and his myth: -the spear used by Ulysses to pierce Polyphemus eye -the wine drop that comes out from the pierced eye -the Mediterranean waves reflected in Ulysses eyes -purple red ( in Italian “Porpora), typical colorof the Mediterranean tradiction, used as a background.
