How to Register Girl Scouts is all about “fun with a purpose” where girls try new things, learn new skills and put them into practice in a safe environment. How do I register for an event? ⇨ Registration is handled by the sponsoring Program Partner OR Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta (GirlScoutsATL /GSGATL) staff. ⇨ The event detail on the website will include information on how to register. ⇨ Program Partners will have a different registration link. ⇨ All girls must be registered Girl Scouts to attend an event (events advertised as family events are the exception).
If the event is managed by GSGATL please follow the instructions below: Register Online – ⇨ Start at our home page www.GirlScoutsATL.org. ⇨ Click the Events link. ⇨ Select the event list and search for specific event by title or with advanced search. You can also look at the Event Calendar to find events. ⇨ The event link is located in the event information once registration for that event is open. By Mail OR In Person – ⇨ Go to the Forms section of our website. ⇨ Completely fill out an Event Registration form. ⇨ Mail in the form with payment OR drop it off with the receptionist at our Mableton Volunteer Service Center. ⇨ Registration is not complete until payment is received. Payments can be made by American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Check, Debit Card, or Unexpired Cookie Dough. ⇨ Financial assistance is available for events facilitated by GSGATL. Up to 50% is available for girl fees. Online submission is available under the forms section at www.GirlScoutsATL.org.

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta
What happens if the minimum registrants is not met? ⇨ Programs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will continue until the program has reached the maximum or the end of registration. Programs may be cancelled if the minimum is not met. All programs are subject to change or cancellation.
Must I pay for the event in advance? ⇨ All program fees must be paid in full with the registration. Fees are deposited when the registration is processed. According to our returned check policy, there will be a $30 service charge for checks returned.
If I cancel, can I get a refund? ⇨ There is a 10% cancellation fee for all registrants who cancel two weeks or more in advance of the event date. ⇨ A refund is not issued if registrants cancel less than 14 days from the event. ⇨ If GSGATL cancels an activity or an event for any reason, a full refund (or event credit) is issued. ⇨ Refunds are made as follows: • Requests must be made in writing prior to the registration deadline. • No refunds are issued for registrants who do not attend the program. • Girl and adult membership registration is nonrefundable. *excluding Summer Resident and Day Camp.
Do adults have to attend the events as well? ⇨ Adult volunteers are needed at some programs to maintain the appropriate girl/adult ratio. If space is limited, once the girl/adult ratio has been met, no additional adults will be accepted. *See website for updated registration information.

Hear from the campers! I’ve been to Camp Misty Mountain, Meriwether, and Timber Ridge. I’ve been to summer camp and a daddy-daughter camping weekend. At first, I was really nervous about sleeping away from home for the first time and that I wouldn’t make any friends. I got over those fears the first day when I made a lot of friends and was way too tired to worry about sleeping in a tent. My favorite part of summer camp was doing mad libs and singing karaoke with my new friends. During a family camping weekend, the best part was grilling out with daddy. We made hotdogs, hamburgers and s’mores. The s’mores were so delicious when the melted chocolate started dripping into the gooey marshmallows.
● PRICE SAMPLE: $50 per girl for a 24-hour getaway. $30 per adult. ● WHO CAN ATTEND: some events are open to the general public but most are geared specifically towards troops and/or families. ● CALENDAR OF EVENTS: Events.GirlScoutsATL.org

—Cece, Girl Scout Junior
I was excited to go horseback riding and was really excited when I realized how in-depth the riding lessons were. At the 2 summer camps I went to, I loved swimming and horseback riding. These activities are super fun and some of my most favorite things to do with friends. When I close my eyes and think of Girl Scout camp, I hear birds singing and girls chatting, I smell pine trees and I taste the delicious bread rolls—they were super light and fluffy! To girls who have never tried camping before, I would suggest you just have fun and be yourself. Just go for it! There are so many new things to try and everyone is really nice. —Savannah, Girl Scout Cadette

A W T S A E R H D G S I H Earning the Honor
Bronze, Silver, and Gold represent the highest honors a Girl Scout can earn. All three awards give your girls the chance to do big things while working on issues important to them.
Finding Her Voice You’ll never know where a Gold Award project will take you. Meet Erica, a 2014-2015 Gold Award honoree whose project “Suit Up” offered homeless, metro Atlanta youth the skills and tools to explore career options and increase their confidence to become future business leaders. Erica presented her project on Capitol Hill during GSUSA’s Gold Award Centennial Celebration. Earning the Gold Award has opened more doors for me than I could’ve ever imagined. Through the process, I’ve become more open-minded, socially conscious, and have gained the true qualities of a leader.
Are your girls ready to earn the Gold Award? In addition to being the capstone of their Girl Scout experience, Gold Awardees set themselves apart in the college admission process, are eligible for scholarships and can enter the military at one rank higher.
Gold Award Girl Scouts gather at the Fox Theater for the 2016 ceremony.
Making A Difference Is your Troop ready to earn their Silver or Bronze award? Through Take Action Projects they’ll plan, work together and with others to make a difference in their communities and beyond. Troop 10751 created an audio library to help students in Zambia, Africa improve their English. The girls illustrated, published and recorded audio CDs of original stories then sent them and CD players to the school.

Taking Your Troop on the Road Tips for a great event experience!
1. Make sure before you head out to an event that you have all of the necessary forms and the correct number of Adults per Girl Scouts attending. You can find this information in your confirmation and in Volunteer Essentials. Don’t forget if you are attending a large event, you might want to bring along an extra Adult or two to assist depending on the age of your Girl Scouts. 2. Make sure to read the event confirmation in full for all Girl Scout hosted events. It will have all of the important information inside, and will include any special instructions for the event. 3. After the event don’t forget to ask reflective questions to see what your Girl Scouts learned and continue the conversation!
