Program Aide Training Weekend

Jan 6 – 8 Camp Kugelman – Pensacola/Alabama Cost: $40/GS, $25/Adult

Program Aides, also known as PA's are Girl Scouts who plan and lead activities and events for younger girls. This training weekend enables girls to explore their leadership through participation in hands-on activities, skill building, and reflection. We ask that you please attend the complete weekend, which includes overnight camping from Friday - Sunday. All food, lodging and materials are included in the event registration cost.

Trail Adventure Badge Workshop & Picnic

Daisy Brownie Fun Day

Jan 8 Camp Kugelman – Lillian Cost: $7/GS, $2/Adult

Calling all Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies – join us at camp for a fun filled day of activities ran by Cadette Girl Scouts who just completed their Program Aide Training. As part of the training, Cadettes will incorporate their newly acquired skills for working with younger Girl Scouts during programs and events, your Girl Scouts will help them earn the final requirement of their training by participating in activities, playing outdoor games, singing songs around the campfire circle, taking a hike and even doing a cool science experiment! This event is perfect to attend on your own or with your Girl Scout troop. We hope to see you there!

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.

Ready Set Hike!

Ready Set Hike events are designed for Cadette scouts to work toward their Cadette Trailblazer badge. Senior and Ambassador Scouts and adults are also invited to attend for conditioning or just to get outdoors. This hike will be at least 5 miles long.

Space Pioneers at the MOSH!

Triple Badge Coding for Good Workshop with Kids Can Code

March 25 Virtual - Zoom Cost: $30/GS

Learn about coding basics, digital game design, and app development with Kids Can Code. Girl Scouts will earn three badges writing JavaScript code and using the VidCode platform. Girls will practice coding in a fun and laid-back learning environment that will allow the ability to explore and expand on coding capabilities!

Engineering For Speed

March 25 Virtual Cost: $35/ GS, $5/ Adult

Teamwork is key to NASCAR. Daisy and Brownies can work together in the blended program to earn three badges. Girl Scouts will explore how and why cars are designed and their purpose by examining parts and pieces and creating their own car design. Learn about assembly lines and how cars are manufactured at a race team and factory. Test your engineering skills to build a car based on their scout level. Then race your cars to see if you can set or beat the NASCAR Hall of Fame track record.

Full Throttle Engineering & Racing

March 25 Virtual Cost: $35/ GS, $5/ Adult

Teamwork is key to NASCAR. Designed for speed, race cars can drive at up to 200 mph. Juniors explore race cars and streetcars to discover design, science, engineering, and manufacturing, earning 3 badges. Juniors step into the roles of engineer, designer, and aerodynists. Throughout the 60-minute session, scouts will create their cars through each step of the program, from concept to build, to racing. Girl Scouts will need to draw on their knowledge of science, including forces in motion and energy.

Car Care 101 with Mercedes Benz

March 25 Mercedes Benz - Jacksonville Cost: $5/GS

Girl Scouts will learn about basic car maintenance, vehicle safety, and what to do in case of an emergency in this fun and hands-on workshop!

Star Party! - All GS March 25 Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park - Jacksonville Cost: $5/GS, $1/adult, $7/non-GS youth, $3/non-GS adult

Join us for a Star Party! There will be several fun star and moon-based activities, Girl Scouts can make a SWAP to commemorate the event, and (of course) observe the stars and moon! Members of the Northeast Florida Astronomical Society will be there with their telescopes so you can see stars, planets, the Moon, and interesting sky objects until 10:30 PM.

Think Like an Engineer Journey in a Day

With LEAD for Women Group at Bank of America where Juniors will have the opportunity to work on the requirements for your My Money Plan Badge! Discover what it means to earn an income and how to make it grow by saving and investing.

April 13 MagLab – Tallahassee Cost: $5/ GS, $2/ Adult

Start with a tour of the Magnet Lab and then combining items commonly found in and around your house, you can create an electromagnet. Girls are given the items and the basic directions for creating an electromagnet that is strong enough to pick up paper clips. They are then encouraged to modify their magnets and note the effects that each change brings to the strength of the magnet.

Program Aides, also known as PAs, are CSA Girl Scouts who plan and lead activities and events for younger girls. This training weekend enables girls to explore their leadership through participation in hands-on activities, skill building, and reflection.

Space Pioneers at the MOSH!

April 15 MOSH - Jacksonville Cost: $23/GS, $17/Adult

Take an intergalactic road trip with MOSH! We’ll discover the planets, learn what constellations we can see at night, and travel throughout the galaxy, all while staying comfortably Earth-bound in the BryanGooding Planetarium here at the Museum. Scouts will have hands-on activities to explore our solar system and the constellations.

S.T.E.A.M. with MOCA April 15 Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville Cost: $15/GS, $10/ Adult

In this workshop, girls will learn about how artists incorporate scientific methods and mathematical principles into their creative processes to produce one of a kind artworks.

Join us for our Spring Fling with the Jacksonville Icemen! On Saturday April 16th in an arena full of Girl Scout green Girl Scouts will cheer on the Icemen as they take on the Solar Bears! Prior to the game we will have a Spring Fling festival outside the arena with treats, games, and fun interactive activities!

Animal Encounter with EPIC Outreach

Visit One EPIC Farm to meet rescued farm animals like horses, pigs, and chickens. Enjoy a farm tour, meet and greet with the animals, and a themed art activity.

Calling all Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies – join us a camp for a fun filled day of activities ran by Cadette Girl Scouts who just completed their Program Aide Training. Girls will have a fun filled day together participating in activities, playing outdoor games, singing songs around the campfire circle, taking a hike and even doing a cool science experiment! The fun will start and end with a ceremony and is perfect to attend on your own or with your Girl Scout troop. We hope to see you there!
