Cabin Camping Weekend at Camp Longleaf

April 28 - 30 Camp Longleaf – Freeport Cost: $500 per Cabin

Come spend a weekend cabin camping with your Girl Scout sisters. You will rent a cabin that sleeps 10 people (all bunk bed style). A minimum of 1 Adult must stay in each cabin. You will take a night hike with Biophilia Staff. Each group will supply their own food and activities. This is a weekend of fun and friendship!

Moon Girls

So often our children point out the Moon to us as we busily go about life. Just what is that ball of rock, or is it really cheese? Our Moon Girls program begins to explain the attributes we see when we look at the Moon. A hands-on examination of the rocks of the Moon and the cratering process. Why we see the different shapes of the Moon. Eclipses and why is it a blood Moon? You will have a chance to ask your questions too! We will have telescopic viewing of the Moon if weather permits!

Kayaking Tour

Paddle the Wakulla River with professional guides for a 3 mile trip to observe manatees and wildlife in the Wakulla River. cost includes kayak rental, guide, shuttle, and fun patch.

Designing Robots Workshop with Mad Science CFL

May 3 Girl Scouts Headquarters- Jacksonville Cost: $5/ GS

Pay Your Own Way gives Girl Scouts a taste of the real world complete with occupation, salary, family, and bills in a hands-on simulation event. Girl Scouts will visit merchants to purchase housing, transportation, food, clothing, childcare, and other wants and needs while building a budget, compelling them to make everyday life decisions about spending and saving.

This Highest Awards training is highly recommended for girls interested in pursuing the Girl Scout Gold Award. Cadette’s New Cuisine Cooking Class

Girl Scouts will cook up four dishes from across time and distance and find out where their taste buds want to travel. Under the direction of a professional chef, Cadette’s will chop, saute, and bake their way to earning the New Cuisine badge.

Marine Biologist for a Day

May 6 St. Augustine Aquarium – St. Augustine Cost: $35/GS, $35/participating Adult, $10/nonparticipating Adult

Go behind the scenes and spend a day with a Marine Biologist and see what it’s like to walk in their shoes (or FLIPPERS) Learn how they take care of the animals, equipment, water quality, what they studied in school and learned about the water! Get an inside view into the ocean! Adults have the option to join in the adventure or just observe.

Swimming with Mermaids

May 6 St. Augustine Aquarium – St. Augustine Cost: $35/GS, $35/participating Adult, $10/non-participating Adult

Snorkel with mermaids amongst 200 colorful Reef Fish and Stingrays! They will give you a guided tour of the marine life in the Florida Reef Habitat. All gear is provided for your adventure, but participants need to bring a bathing suit and a towel. Adults may join in on the adventure or observe.

Kidz Tough with Women’s Defense Company

May 7 Women’s Self Defense Company - Jacksonville Cost: $45/GS, $1/Adult

This fun and empowering children’s self-defense program will teach your child how to recognize and respond to dangerous situations as well as realistic techniques to escape from an attempted abduction. 26

Nailed It!

May 7 Nailed It DIY Studio- Jacksonville Cost: $26/GS

Earn your woodworking badge while learning new skills and having a blast. Using raw wood materials, power tools, and paint you will build a wood project with your own two hands! A Cadette Woodworker Badge or Fun Patch will be provided for each registered Girl Scout girl at the conclusion of the program.

My Financial Power with Bank of America

May 10 Girl Scout Headquarters- Jacksonville Cost: $5/GS

LEAD for Women group at Bank of America will help Seniors discover all the ways they can create financial stability, such as building wealth, making wise career choices, and being aware of investment risks. Seniors will earn their My Financial Power Badge.

2nd Annual She & Me Campout - All GS May 12 - 14 Camp Kugelman – Lillian Cost: $50 Girl Scout / $50 Adult

Join us for our 2nd annual she and me campout and spend some quality fun time with your special girl. Crafts, outdoor movie, games, take a dip in the pool (weather permitting), kayak on Perdido Bay (at least 1 watercraft certified Adult will be required for this activity). Let's celebrate the special she and me relationships during this weekend event!

Aquatics Weekend 1 Aquatic Leader Aid

Older girls gain confidence in their aquatic and leadership skills as they share their knowledge with younger girls. An assessment of skill level and proficiency each weekend allows ALAs to progress into an assistant instructor role. Girls progress through this leadership experience at their own pace, with the guidance and support of Aquatics instructors.

May 12 Camp Kateri Cost: $50 / GS, $50 / Adult

Spend the weekend aiming for the target! Use a bow and arrow as you learn proper technique, play games, and try tricks of the trade. Sunday morning, test your skills by participating in a tournament to earn the Archery training strip.

Aquatics Weekend 1 Canoe 1

May 12 Camp Kateri Cost: $50 / GS, $50 / Adult

Spend the weekend learning the basic canoe strokes and concepts of canoeing safety. This weekend will be packed full of amazing tips and tricks to help you become a skilled canoer, including many different strokes, how to get in and out, and how to handle a capsized canoe. Enjoy beautiful Hankley Lake, while learning basic canoe skills and play Canoe Tag!

Aquatics Weekend 1 Canoe 2

May 12 Camp Kateri Cost: $50 / GS, $50 / Adult

Come back for round two as you become proficient in paddling strokes and maneuvers you learned in Canoeing 1 (Intro to Canoeing), then learn new strokes and sweeps to strengthen your skills. Eat lunch on the lake, in your canoe and take a nice refreshing swim in Hankley Lake! 27

Ready to take your canoe skills to the next level! Join us for a two weekend course. First weekend you will brush up on skills learned in Canoe 1 and 2 , then discover new strokes and deep-water entry maneuvers! You will end out the weekend preparing for your day trip down the river on the second weekend of this course. The river is chosen by aquatics instructors.

Grab your paddles and meet us lakeside to learn all about kayaking! You will learn the basic strokes, how to get in and out properly, how to wet exit your kayak, and of course all the safety points and gear needed to be successful on the water. Join in the fun as you take a tour of McCarthy Lake and find out what Dead Fish Polo is all about!
