Girl Scout Cookie Time!
During Girl Scout Cookie time your leader will go over the cookie program with you and others in your troop. You and your troop will learn the different types of cookies - their names, flavors, and basic ingredients. Since many people have food allergies find out which cookies contain nuts, gluten and dairy.
You and your troop will also learn 5 essential skills from the Girl Scout Cookie Program and have FUN while learning by doing! These skills include goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics—as you learn to think like an entrepreneur.
Goal Setting: Goal setting is the first step to making your dreams a reality. Look at the Girl Scout Cookie Program rewards with your troop and your family members. Think about your dreams and the goals for your troop - attending Girl Scout camp, a Girl Scout event, or planning a troop outing. Make a decision on which goal you want to work towards, then choose a reward incentive to strive for. Additionally, make sure to write down the specific number of cookies you aim to sell to reach your goal.
Who do you want to sell cookies to? Practice decision making by choosing who to reach out to first and in what way. Decision Making: Decision making is second step to make your dreams and cookie goal a reality.
Management: Girl Scouts learn how to create a budget and handle money. You and you troop will build on your knowledge creating a budget to fund a troop experience.
People Skills: Girl Scouts will find their voice and build confidence through customer interactions. Girls will talk with their troop leaders and families about new marketing-promote and sell ideas they want to try. They can discuss how to tailor their cookie pitch to achieve their goals.
Business Ethics: Girl Scouts learn to act ethically- truthful, honest and fair, both in business and life. You and your troop will talk about the importance of delivering on your promise to customers.
