You Helped Girls Learn from Local Businesswomen! At Camp CEO, girls started out quiet but found new confidence, thanks to you!

ou helped girls learn leadership skills from local businesswomen through Camp CEO! Recently, a group of Girl Scouts attended Camp CEO, which is a three-day camp where girls connect with and learn from women in a variety of industries and backgrounds. The girls were quiet and unsure walking into this experience. But by day two, girls were raising their hands to present during activities and encouraging their shyer peers to speak up.

“Life Outdoors is LIT!” – a Big Success! Your support of outdoor programs gave girls and their families an amazing overnight camp adventure “My girl loved every minute of being at camp. I cannot wait until the next event!” – Girl Scout mom Recently, Girl Scouts invited a specific group of girls to participate in an outdoor camping experience as part of the “Life Outdoors is LIT!” event series. “Life Outdoors is LIT” is designed to create a safe space for families of color to grow more comfortable with outdoor exploration and a lifestyle that may be different from their everyday experiences. The program included a series of experiences to help families get acclimated to the outdoors.
You helped families have an amazing camping adventure and so much more!
The final activity was an overnight event at Camp Butternut Springs. Each family participated in activities like archery, boating, letterboxing and geocaching, and tie-dye crafts. The overnight also included a cookout, making a meal over the campfire, singing songs and, of course, making s’mores!
This amazing experience was the first outdoor camping adventure for some families! “Thank you for the fantastic program you provided the Girl Scouts and families at the ‘Life Outdoors is LIT’ finale event this weekend!” a mom shared. Thank you for your support of outdoor activities for all girls in our community – as you can see, this “Life Outdoors is LIT” activity was a big success!
