Join us at Navy Pier on May 9, 2020 for Green for Good - an unforgettable experience to make our world a better place! Green for Good is no ordinary expo! It's a life-changing, family-friendly experience to spark innovation, creativity, advocacy, and action for the environment. Together, we'll learn to lead on environmental issues; discover actionable ways to change habits at home, in our communities, and in the world; and cultivate new ideas through hands-on, interactive activities.

GIRL SCOUTING GOES ALL IN At the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Child and Family Center, 20 Girl Scouts gather for their weekly meeting.

Why Green for Good? For more than 100 years, Girl Scouting has educated its members on how to be good stewards of the environment, use resources wisely, and pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Through Girl Scouting, girls learn to value the Earth as their home and are inspired to develop a lasting commitment to the environment through care, conservation, and responsibility. This event is hosted by Girl Scouts GCNWI and is open to everyone!

During the investiture ceremony, the girls are reminded that they belong and can count on Girl Scout sisters across the globe. The girls are surprised to learn that they can keep their guidebook and uniform. They return enthusiastic to demonstrate that they have memorized the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

What might be a weekly routine for some has become a cornerstone of confidence and connection for ALL IN troops

across Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana. ALL IN troops support girls traveling through the foster care system. These troops move at a slower pace since attendance can vary, as some girls have therapy or visits scheduled. Utilizing trauma-informed resources within the council to better support the facilitator, ALL IN troops build ongoing connections that girls could rely on as they face challenges such as financial uncertainty and health/lifestyle issues.

Cooper, Chief Community Relations Officer at the Primo Center for Women and Children, shared. For the center's ALL IN troop, Girl Scouting has been a wellspring of kindness and support for the girls. During the troop's recent holiday party, “the girls loved making fleece blankets and experienced so much pride upon completing them.” “Girl Scouting has been a blessing, and brought many smiles during our girls' time of greatest need,” Cooper said.

“We are grateful for the compassion and ‘fun’ [Girl Scouting] offers them,” Shelley @girlscoutsgcnwi

In 2019, more than 50,000 Girl Scouts in our council realized their potential and unleashed their power to create meaningful change. Because of you and your generosity, girls pursued new discoveries, connected with others, and took action using their own style of girl-led leadership. These highlights represent just a fraction of the many ways you inspired girls to speak up and stand out. Thank you for championing the Girl Scout Movement!
