Tour the Auditorium Theatre and marvel at the art and architecture of Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan. Built in 1889, the theater follows that time of Chicago’s history. You will be assigned a tour time between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Tours will be one hour long. Date: Code: Location: Cost:

Art-O-Rama!

In celebration of Women’s History Month, join professional singer and actress Lori Mestas at the Joliet Area Historical Museum as she portrays famous women from our history. Through drama and song Lori will share their stories, inspiring others how to make a difference too! Emerald City Theatre – A Frog Prince, Continued

When “happily ever after” isn’t what he expected, The Frog Prince heads out for a new adventure. Getting ready to hit the road on your own for the first time? Whether you are going alone or banding together with a few friends, heading across borders or heading to college, solo travel as a woman can be a powerful, emboldening growth experience. However, safety is always a consideration. Some prep work before you go will help you make the most of your journey. Hear tips on how to travel safely and enjoyably in this workshop by women for women. Learn tips on budgeting, accommodations, safety and cultural customs from an experienced woman traveler. Girl Scouts will discover different ways to become more actively involved in their local and global communities through the hands-on activities in Make a Difference! The Miller Family Youth Exhibition. This highly interactive space helps girls explore themes such as respecting diversity, celebrating differences and taking a stand on issues that matter to them. Explore the history of the Holocaust by taking an inquiry-based walk through the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center which highlights the necessity of a thorough understanding of history as a platform for social action. Road Trip 2013: Drive South, Think Global!

This summer our road trip destination is the Heifer Ranch in Perryville, Arkansas! Experience the ranch firsthand, where nothing - shelter, food, water or cooking fuel - can be taken for granted as you participate in Heifer’s Global Challenge program with globally-themed team building exercises, preparing a meal with limited resources and spending a night in the Global Village. Incredible India

This trip begins in Mumbai, India’s largest city, then heads to Pune and the World Centre. Make a special visit to Sangam, the WAGGGS World Centre in India, where you’ll spend a week participating in Girl Scout and Girl Guide programs. Sangam, which means “coming together” in Sanskrit, will provide community service opportunities and the chance to learn more about the Indian culture. Back in Mumbai, girls will get the chance to visit the beautiful and historic sites the city has to offer. Before the trip, girls will get the chance to decide what sites interest them most – is it the Elephanta Caves? Or maybe a sunset trip to the beach complete with the delicious street food for which India is famous? Take a ferry, visit the infamous slums or see the Gateway to India – it’s your choice!
