Dear Girl Scouts,
Dream Out Loud!
As we look forward to another incredible spring and summer, our theme Dream Out Loud is a perfect reminder of what Girl Scouting is all about—empowering every girl to follow her dreams, become her best self, and make the world a better place. Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania is dedicated to providing our girls with the tools and experiences they need to grow, lead, and achieve.
Programs like Calling All Girl Bosses help girls dream big by empowering them to make changes in their communities. Through hands-on activities and mentorship, this program shows girls how to set goals, overcome challenges, and achieve success in all areas of their lives while working towards their Highest Awards. Special thanks to the incredible Volunteers who are dedicated to ensuring our girls are successful.
Consider yourself invited! We would love to see you all at GirlzDay: Our World, Our Way on May 17, 2025 from 10am to 5pm at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. This exciting day was planned for girls by girls and will include make it take it stations, an indoor skating rink, guest speakers, a DJ and GLOW DANCE PARTY, and more! Come celebrate with 2,000 girls and learn more about the amazing ways our Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award Girl Scouts have changed the world this year!
At Girl Scout Camp, girls have the opportunity to push their boundaries, explore new skills, and build lasting friendships. Each adventure—from mastering outdoor survival skills and earning badges, to experiencing the thrill of the ropes course or archery range—helps girls build confidence and resilience.
This summer, we are excited to announce our new Classic Camp (pg. 14) at Camp Wood Haven and Camp Mountain House! Classic Camp is the perfect mix of badge earning activities and traditional camp activities like horseback riding, ropes courses, art, and so much more. Choose your own adventure and schedule this summer at Classic Camp! Plus, attend all 8 weeks of camp to earn up to 20 badges!
I would like to express a special thank you to our Cookie Program participants, and the volunteers who assist them. Girls who sell cookies help make camp affordable and accessible for every Girl Scout. The Cookie Program not only helps girls with financial literacy and entrepreneurship, it also powers adventures throughout the year! Girls can use Cookie Dough to purchase weeks of camp, attend programs, and even take a trip with their Troop. THANK YOU!
I hope you have fun exploring the full range of programs we are offering and encourage you to DREAM OUT LOUD and make this a spring and summer to remember!
Yours in Girl Scouting,
Kim E. Fraites-Dow Chief Executive Officer Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania
“Girl
Scouting rises within you and inspires you to put your best foot forward.”
— JULIETTE GORDON LOW, FOUNDER OF GIRL SCOUTS
Welcome to Camp!
Our Vision
At Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, we strive to provide camps and programs that empower Girl Scouts to build leadership, confidence, independence, and a sense of community. Our camps are committed to providing opportunities for all girls throughout our nine-county footprint, creating and connecting a diverse and inclusive community that helps campers unlock their potential and discover the world. Through unforgettable experiences, Girl Scouts develop essential life skills while discovering who they are and how they can make a positive impact.
Our Program Philosophy
We believe that every moment at camp is a learning opportunity. Our campers have wonderful adventures, challenge themselves, build confidence, and make new friends. Whether it’s through day camp or overnight camp, Girl Scouts learn to thrive away from home by becoming part of a close-knit community. During this time, they practice teamwork, decision-making, and personal responsibility by helping with “kaper” duties (shared chores) around camp. Our camps offer a space where Girl Scouts feel safe to try new things, take healthy risks, and learn from their mistakes, knowing they have the support of our caring staff and their peers. This holistic, hands-on learning process helps Girl Scouts grow into confident and capable leaders.
A Note About Safety
Nothing is more important than the emotional and physical safety of our campers. Our programs are specifically designed to allow campers to take healthy risks in a safe and nurturing environment. Our enthusiastic staff receive extensive training before camp and are chosen for their maturity, energy, and ability to be positive role models for your child. From medical care to activity supervision, our commitment to health and safety is woven into every aspect of our camps.
Why Camp is Important
According to a recent survey conducted by the American Camp Association, camps play a critical role in developing skills necessary for future success. Parents, campers, and camp staff independently reported growth in areas such as self-confidence, independence, friendship-building, exploring, and the development of new skills. Camp is more than just a place to have fun—it is a vital component of shaping wellrounded, empowered individuals.
Here are just a few reasons why camp matters:
Compassionate Leadership: Girl Scouts observe and practice leadership, voicing their ideas, making choices, and collaborating with others to solve problems.
Personal Growth: Camp offers a secure space where Girl Scouts can build self-confidence and learn to take calculated risks, preparing them for real-world challenges.
Connection to Nature and the Outdoors:
Immersed in nature, Girl Scouts get a break from the digital world to connect with the outdoors, fostering an appreciation for the environment and a sense of calm.
Diverse and Inclusive Community: Our camps bring together Girl Scouts from different backgrounds, helping them to understand diverse perspectives, develop empathy, and build inclusive communities that reflect the world around them.
The best camps are American Camp Association (ACA) accredited. ACA accreditation shows a commitment to high quality programs, safety standards, and best business practices. To learn more about ACA, visit acacamps.org.
Come Work at Camp!
Working at camp, you will become a role model for girls aged 5-17 and grow as an individual. While caring for campers, staff become proficient in time management, problem solving, public speaking, crisis management, and more! Gaining practical skills and forming lifelong friendships are just two reasons why working at Girl Scout camp is a great way to spend your summer.

Shop at the Trading Post
The Trading Post (TP) is your headquarters for camp swag, last minute camp needs, and fun stuff too! Campers practice the financial skills they’ve learned—budgeting, comparison shopping, and more! Here’s everything you need to know for shopping at the Trading Posts during camp.
Day Camps
Day campers visit the Trading Post once a week. Counselors send home a flyer on Mondays with what’s available and directions for sending money with your camper. Day campers can use cash, Cookie Dough, or Gift Certificates for their purchases.
Overnight Camps
Overnight campers visit the TP at least once during the camp week and must make TP Deposits for purchases made Monday–Thursday. All TP Deposits should be made in myGS or our shops at least two weeks in advance of your camp start date.
• Deposits travel with your camper across weeks or camps! There’s no need to pick your camp week when making your deposit in myGS.
• At pickup, campers are informed of their available balance. You can visit the Trading Post during pickup to use up your balance.
• Deposits are not refundable. When summer ends, we’ll email you with your available balance and give you some options for using it.
• IMPORTANT UPDATE! We’ve had a change to our Trading Post Deposit Policy you should be aware of: Any Camper Customer Account that does not have a purchase for two membership years will be closed and monies available will be moved to a fund for campers without deposits.
The Trading Post is also open during drop-off and pickup for families to shop together. Our staff will not be able to answer your questions during drop-off; please send any questions you may have to memberservices@gsep.org with the subject line “Trading Post.”
How-To
Use Cookie Dough at the Trading Post:
• Day Campers—send a note instead of cash with the amount to spend. The TP staff will apply the Cookie Dough to the purchase.
• Overnight Campers—complete your transaction at one of our shops or email memberservices@gsep.org with the subject line “Cookie Dough for Trading Post” to let us know how much you want to reserve for use at Trading Posts.
Use your Trading Post balance from last year: You don’t have to do anything! Your balance is still available.
Use Trading Post Deposits at Day Camps:
Indicate on your envelope that your camper has a TP Deposit. Our staff will confirm and apply the TP Deposit to the purchase.
Trading Post Cabins
Use a Gift Certificate from previous years for a TP Deposit:
Visit a shop or email shop@gsep.org with the subject “Gift Certificate for Trading Post.” Please include a picture of the Gift Certificate or the GC number found in the lower right corner of the certificate.

2025 Take the Lead
Take the Lead is GSEP’s signature fundraising event series, held annually in Berks County, the Lehigh Valley, and Greater Philadelphia.
Unique to GSEP, Take the Lead is a girl-led event that enables Girl Scouts and women from the community to forge long-lasting mentoring relationships designed to teach Girl Scouts the skills they’ll need to become the leaders of tomorrow. As always, our Girl Scouts are the stars of the show, serving in many capacities including hosts, emcees, chorus, and presenters.
Take the Lead supports GSEP’s programs, which encourage Girl Scouts to discover a strong sense of self, connect with others, and take action to improve their communities.
Registration is now open for a variety of Take the Lead roles available for Girl Scouts in grades 2-12.
Choose the Girl Scout leadership opportunity you are most interested in – greeter, networking, chorus, or color guard. Cost of the program is $5 per Girl Scout, which includes a Take the Lead patch and rocker, snack at the rehearsal, and dinner at a Take the Lead event. Camp Wood Haven
CLASSIC CAMP
Camp Wood Haven has revamped programming and gone classic! This summer each camper gets to choose their own adventure, creating an individualized camp experience that is tailored specifically to each camper! All campers will have scheduled time for swimming and “bunk” activities and will have various badge and/or journey earning opportunities. The rest of their day they will choose their own activities. Want extra swimming? Great! Looking to earn even more badges? Do it! Not interested in climbing the wall? Then don’t! Sign up for the activities YOU want to do that week!
Horseback riding opportunities are offered for different age groups each week at an additional cost and is the only activity that needs to be selected prior to the camp week. If interested, you will register for horseback riding upon registration.
All non-horseback riding campers, entering grades 4 and above will participate in an off-site trip each week. Campers in grades 1-3 and horseback riding programs will continue in camp activities on trip days.
Campers can register for one, two, or all seven weeks of camp! After all, you are making your schedule, so you can make it unique each and every week! Campers are able to stay at camp over select weekends for an additional fee. During weekend stays activity choices continue, but may be more limited. There is no horseback riding on weekends.
Swimming
Campers are tested at the beginning of the week and placed in swim groups based on ability. Participation in certain activities requires the appropriate swimming skills. See program descriptions. Campers in Grades 1-5 will have swimming lessons every day. Campers in Grades 6-12 may elect to have swimming lessons or free swims most days.

Adult/Volunteer Roles Vary by Program
Each of our programs has unique volunteer needs. Some require adult volunteers to oversee groups of Girl Scouts, while others only need staff. Please review the specific requirements in each program description to understand your role when registering. In many cases all adults must be registered and cleared.
Note: We ensure that all of our programs meet the Girl Scout safety requirements regarding adult to child ratios. We have program spots open for registered Girl Scout adults for many of our events in order to ensure we can meet that ratio. Adults joining the activities ensures that we can continue to provide great programming to all Girl Scouts who are interested. Once ratios are met, we may limit further adult openings. By registering you agree to support the whole group to ensure safe participation.
Volunteers Needed: Volunteers are needed to ensure we can provide adult to child ratio for the event. Parents can drop off their Girl Scout, but we still need a few volunteers to help run this program. By registering, you agree to supervise a group of Girl Scouts. It is possible you may not be placed with your own troop.
Girl Scout Only Drop-Off Event: This program is intended to be for Girl Scouts only and will be run by Girl Scout Staff.
Adults Required: Registering as a troop will require a Troop Volunteer(s) to attend in order to meet adult to child ratio. If registering as an individual, a registered and cleared adult supervisor will need to attend.
