Chat with Mountain House counselors and staff as you take a tour of camp and get answers to all your questions. Try your hand at archery (grade 2+), make your first summer camp art project, and check out all that camp has to offer. LOCATION For security reasons, GSEP does not publish the address of its camps. (The address and directions will be provided in your confirmation packet or email camps@gsep.org for directions to an open house.) Camp Mountain House is located off I–78/PA–309 in a residential neighborhood on Allentown’s South Mountain. The camp is less than five miles from GSEP’s Lehigh Valley Service Center and is a 20 minute drive from downtown Bethlehem.

Allentown, PA Hidden away in a wooded sanctuary in Lehigh County, Camp Mountain House offers a thrilling blend of day camp programs for every age group, from first-time campers to seasoned experts. Be creative in our art center, sing songs, and get active playing games. Splash in the pool (offsite), perform on the stage, or get messy with science. It’s all waiting for you! Outdoor cooking, nature activities, and archery (grade 2+) will keep you busy the entire week. With fun filled memories and new friends, Mountain House is the place for you!

ENTERING GRADES K–3 Make New Friends June 19-23 $220 Want to experience all that camp has to offer? If so, this is the perfect week for you! Play gaga, go on a hike, spend time at the pool, and make crafts. Enjoy a campfire, and much more all while making new friends and lifelong memories! Brownies, earn your Making Friends badge.

Mermaid Madness June 26-30 $225 Calling all mermaids! Splish-splash your way through camp this week while spending extra time by the pool. Make under-thesea art creations and play water games with all of your friends! Optional sleepover Thursday night for an additional $25.

Me & My Doll: Camp Adventures July 3-7 (No Camp July 4) $190 Dress your favorite doll in her outdoor clothes and go camping together! You and your

doll will go hiking, create new crafts, and make delicious snacks. Bring your doll to the Mountain House Salon, where you both will get matching hairdos. End the week with a special tea party. Together, you’ll have a great time!

Ooey, Gooey & Slimy July 3-7 (No Camp July 4) $190 Love all things squirmy, slimy, and messy? Well, you’ve picked the right week of camp! Build an exploding volcano, try your hand at shaving cream art, and make some messy (but delicious) treats in the kitchen. You’ll end your gooey week by throwing pie at your counselors!

Summer Scientists July 17-21 $215 Science can be super fun! Come experiment at camp as you make your own Silly Putty and a cloud in a jar. Snack on homemade ice cream and compete in an egg-drop competition. Take home instructions for the experiments so you can wow your parents and friends with your scientific skills! Brownies, earn your Home Scientist badge.

Artsy Gals July 24-28 $220

Sweet Treats July 10-14 $230 Some very delicious goodies await you at Mountain House. Spend the week learning how to make candy, cupcakes, and lollipops. You’ll follow recipes to bake your favorite sweet treats and create an ice cream flavor that you’ll present to the Mountain House Ice Cream Wars competition judges. You’ll even get to take home a book filled with all of the recipes you make at camp!

Do you love glitter, paint, glue, and markers? Join us at Mountain House for a week filled with crafty fun! You’ll work with Model Magic to create a sculpture, use things you find in nature to make works of art, and design your own tie-dye T-shirt to take home with you. Optional sleepover Thursday night for an additional $25. Brownies, earn your Painting badge.

Spend the week learning how to follow a recipe, measure, and bake your favorite sweet treats. Work together to create an ice cream flavor that you’ll present to the Mountain House Ice Cream Wars competition judges. You’ll even get to take home a book filled with all of the recipes you make at camp!

Pop! Bang! Fizz July 17-21 $215 Science can be messy, but that’s what makes it so fun! Come experiment at camp as you make your own Silly Putty, build a volcano, snack on homemade ice cream, and compete in an egg-drop competition. Sugar, Sugar July 10-14 $230 Ready for a sugar rush? Whip up some new sweet treats! Learn how to operate kitchen equipment, make your own recipe book, and bake a delicious snack for the whole camp to enjoy. July 17-21 $215 Calling all Percy Jackson fans! Always wanted to go to Camp Half-Blood? This is your chance to train like Poseidon, shoot archery like Artemis and build things like Hephaestus. LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS ENTERING GRADES 7-9 Day Camp Program Aide Training

Learn the basics of leadership, childcare, safety, and general day-camp management. During this two-week program, you will also get the opportunity to increase your knowledge of camp songs, games, and crafts while learning how to work with girls. You will rotate through different units and specialty activities where you will be able to use your skills as a “counselor” for younger girls. Applicants must demonstrate maturity, commitment, leadership potential, and be able to work well with others to maintain a positive environment. Camp Interns will also enjoy traditional camp activities. Interested girls will be required to provide references and proof of leadership experience. An interview will be scheduled with each applicant within two weeks of registering for the program; past participation in Camp Program Aide does not guarantee a spot as a Camp Intern, as space is limited. Candidates not accepted into the program will be refunded their payment for the program. Upon successful completion of this program, girls will earn the Camp Intern pin.

On the Ropes July 17-21 $230 Build your teamwork and balance on the low-ropes challenge course! Spend time each day on the course and then work up your courage to try the high-ropes challenge course on a trip to Camp Laughing Waters. You’ll also enjoy other fun camp activities during the week. Cadettes and Seniors, earn segments of your Adventurers patch.

LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS ENTERING GRADES 7-9 Day Camp Program Aide Training

$315 Learn the basics of leadership, childcare, safety, and general day-camp management. During this two-week program, you will also get the opportunity to increase your knowledge of camp songs, games, and crafts while learning how to work with girls. You will rotate through different units and specialty activities where you will be able to use your skills as a “counselor” for younger girls. Applicants must demonstrate maturity, commitment, leadership potential, and be able to work well with others to create a positive environment. Camp Interns will also enjoy traditional camp activities. Interested girls will be required to provide references and proof of leadership experience. An interview will be scheduled with each applicant within two weeks of registering for the program. Past participation in Camp Program Aide does not guarantee a spot as a Camp Intern, as space is limited. Candidates not accepted into the program will be refunded their payment for the program. Upon successful completion of this program, girls will earn the Camp Intern pin.

June 19-23 $160

Camp Interns

Are you a returning camper and want to be more involved? During this week-long training you will work as part of a team to design and lead activities for younger girls. Enjoy songs and games while learning about team building, personal growth, and the basics of leading a group of girls. You will fulfill GSEP requirements for the Program Aide Training Course. Girls will not be able to earn the Program Aide pin at camp, but they will complete many of the requirements. Completing Camp Program Aide Training does not guarantee a spot as a Program Aide each week, as space is limited.

June 19-August 11 $60 per week Camp Interns can assist with as many week-long sessions as they choose. Girls must register for and be able to attend each session in its entirety. As Camp Interns, girls will shadow in specialty areas such as arts & crafts, archery/adventure, or songs/games or be assigned to shadow a counselor with a group of younger girls. Must have successfully completed and earned the Camp Intern pin.

CAMP REGISTRATION INFORMATION Download your registration form at www.gsep.org/forms. All registrants are expected to review and abide by the registration information listed below.

REGISTRATION DEADLINES: • Online registration closes one week prior to the camp start date or when full. SPACE AND ATTENDANCE: • Space is limited so register online early to secure your space. • Attendance capacity is based on the needs of the camp program itself and cannot be adjusted due to late registration, transfer requests, buddy expectations, etc. • Registrants must notify the Member Services department of all cancellations. • Requests to make changes from one camp session to another must be sent to memberservices@gsep.org at least four weeks prior to the start of the originally scheduled camp session. One change request per order will be accepted free of charge, and additional changes will incur a $20 administrative fee or may require the purchaser to cancel the order and begin the registration process again for the new camp session. DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT: • A $50 NON REFUNDABLE deposit is required for each camp you wish to attend. • Payment is due in full four weeks prior to the camp start date. If payment is not received, we cannot guarantee your space. • If you are interested in using your Cookie Adventure credits to pay for all or a portion of your summer camp experience, register online and pay the deposit and then email memberservices@gsep.org to have them applied to your camp balance due.

Gilbertsville, PA With almost 500 acres, Camp Laughing Waters has a little something for everyone. Push your personal limits on the ropes challenge courses and rock wall (low ropes: grade 4+; high ropes: grade 6+) or try out new activities such as yoga, water aerobics, disc golf, horseback riding, and life-sized Hungry, Hungry Hippos. Expand your artistic side with themed arts and crafts projects, music programs, and nature art. Take aim at archery (grade 2+), work as a team as you play gaga and sports in the activity center, learn new cooking skills, and splash in the pool. Your week will be filled with excitement, new adventures, connecting with old and new friends, and enjoying the natural surroundings around you.

ACTIVITY PREREQUISITES Swimming: Girls will be tested during the first swimming period they arrive. Please note that participation in some activities requires passing of certain levels. Canoeing: Must have passed American Red Cross level 2 swimming instruction. Horseback Riding: All riders will be assessed during their first trip to the stables. Can’t choose between running, swimming, and biking? Tri them all! This week you will be the star at Cheetah Club and Polar Bear! Spend time biking all the trails at camp! Once you have mastered the trials, head out on a bike trip to Valley Forge for an overnight, followed by a day of hiking. Campers must bring their own bike and biking gear, along with an extra inner tube. Must be comfortable biking on uneven terrain.

Shoot Like a Girl AUGUST 6-11 (TENTS)

JULY 23-AUGUST 4 (2 WEEKS; CABIN) $800 Have you always wanted to try your hand at acting? Maybe you’ve been in plays and dream of being on stage? Come to camp for two weeks and practice your acting skills though improv games. LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS ENTERING GRADES 7-9 Resident Camp Program Aide JULY 9-21 (2 WEEKS; TENTS) $405 Are you a returning camper who is looking to become more involved at camp? During these two weeks, you will work as a team to design and lead resident camp activities for younger girls. You’ll explore a number of areas, including camp crafts, the pool, adventure activities, horseback riding, and more. Enjoy themed days and special events, and learn about teambuilding, personal growth, and leadership basics. Girls will go home on the weekend. You will fulfill the GSEP requirements for the Program Aide Leadership course. Girls will not earn the Program Aide pin but will complete many of its requirements; LiA and leadership hours will need to be completed independently in order to earn the pin.

ENTERING GRADES 8-9 Take Charge JULY 30-AUGUST 11 (2 WEEKS; TENTS) $405 This program is designed for girls who have taken Camp Program Aide and want to continue their experience. During your two weeks at camp, you will finetune the skills you learned in your Camp Program Aide training as you continue your work with younger campers and cultivate your leadership skills. You may choose areas of special interest: the barn, the pool, arts and crafts, nature, and team building. Girls will go home on the weekend. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Camp Program Aide.


ENTERING GRADES 10-12 CIT-I JUNE 25- JULY 21 (4 WEEKS) *GIRLS WILL STAY THE WEEKEND OF JULY 14-16 (TENTS) $535 Learn about leadership, safety, risk management, childcare, and all that it takes to be a camp counselor. The first two weeks of this program will focus on leadership skills and tips and tricks to be a successful counselor. During the second two weeks, you will participate in an internship where you will be able to use your skills as a counselorin-training for younger girls. Applicants must demonstrate maturity, commitment, and leadership potential, as well as be able to work well with others to create a positive environment. CITs will also enjoy traditional camp activities during their stay. Applicants will be required to pass an interview with the camp director prior to final acceptance into the program. Upon successful completion of this program, girls will earn the CIT I pin.

ENTERING GRADES 11-12 CIT-II JULY 23-AUGUST 11 (3 WEEKS) $475 Have you already earned your CIT-I pin and are looking for more experience in a special activity area? If so, then CIT-II is for you! Girls will go home on the weekend. *Prerequisite: Must have successfully completed CIT-I and obtained permission from the camp director. Waterfront: To qualify, you must be a lifeguard by the beginning of your session. In this area, you will help supervise and give swim lessons and lead water games and creek hikes. Horseback Riding: To qualify for this program, you must have four years of riding experience. In this program, you will work with the barn staff to lead lessons and care for horses and the stable. Arts and Crafts: To qualify for this program, you must have experience with different art techniques, such as drawing, painting, sculpting, sewing, etc. You will help plan and lead lesson, and come up with projects of your own. Adventure: To qualify, you must have previous experience participating in ropes courses. You will learn how to assemble and take down the rope courses and help facilitate different teambuilding activities.

White Haven, PA Come join the adventure on the water, in the air, and everywhere in between while exploring Camp Mosey Wood’s 425 acres in the Poconos. Challenge yourself as you participate in bouldering, wall climbing (grade 4+), the challenge tower (6th grade and above), and amazing 900-feet dueling zip lines (grade 6+)! Enjoy Mosey Wood pond by boat as you row, sail, stand-up paddleboard, and more. Enjoy swimming? Try our Aquatower and Wibit obstacle course (see swimming prerequisites for all water activities)! Appalachian Adventure JUNE 25-JULY 7 (2 WEEKS) $870 Have you ever hiked through an entire state? After you finish this program, you will have those bragging rights! Spend your first few days in camp learning the skills you need for the trail, like how to fit and pack your backpack, use camp stoves, leave no trace, and more. Then head out for a five-day excursion along the Appalachian Trail. Start your journey in Pennsylvania, hike throughout the state of Maryland, and complete your journey in West Virginia!

Assateague Adventure

$405 Are you a returning camper and want to be more involved? During these two weeks, you will work as part of a team to design and lead activities for younger girls. Enjoy songs and games while learning about team building, personal growth, and the basics of leading a group of girls. You will fulfill GSEP requirements for the Program Aide Training Course. Girls will not be able to earn the Program Aide pin at camp, but they will complete many of the requirements. LiA and leadership hours will need to be completed independently to earn the pin.

ENTERING GRADES 10–12 CIT I JUNE 25–JULY 21 (4 WEEKS) *Girls go home the weekend of July 7-9 $535 Learn about leadership, safety, risk management, childcare and all that it takes to be a camp counselor. The first two weeks of this program will focus on leadership skills and tips and tricks for being a successful counselor. During the second two weeks, you will participate in an internship where you will be able to use your skills as a “counselor” for younger girls. Applicants must demonstrate maturity, commitment, leadership potential, and work well with others to create a positive environment. CITs will also enjoy traditional camp activities during their stay. Applicants will be required to pass an interview with the camp director prior to final acceptance into the program. Upon successful completion of this program, girls will earn the CIT I pin.

$475 Have you already earned your CIT-I pin and are looking for more experience in a special activity area? If so, then CITII is for you! *Prerequisite: Must have successfully completed CIT-I and obtained permission from the camp director. Waterfront: You must be a lifeguard or qualify to take the lifeguard training prior to the start of camp (first weekend in June at Mosey Wood) and be a minimum of 16 years old. To qualify for training, you will be expected to swim 550 yards using the freestyle and breast strokes, retrieve a 10lb block from the bottom of the lake and tread water for 10 minutes with hands out of the water. After successfully completing the Waterfront Lifeguard course, you will spend your time reviewing and practicing what your learned in CIT I and continue your internship on the lake at both boating at swimming! Adventure/Teambuilding: This program is designed for girls who are experienced campers and like the adventure elements of camp. In this training, you will learn how to facilitate the rock wall and ropes course as well as learn how to implement various teambuilding exercises with younger girls. Plan and lead hikes, help teach survival skills, geocache, and more as you work with the staff to provide adventure programs for the younger campers.

Pine Grove, PA Whether you enjoy horseback riding, taking care of alpacas, shooting archery (grade 2+), or challenging yourself on our low-ropes challenge course, treetop ascension element (grade 6+), climbing wall (grade 4+), the opportunities at Camp Wood Haven are endless. Have fun creating arts and crafts, swimming, taking trips out of camp, and developing new leadership skills. Campers can sleep in a tent, an Adirondack shelter, a Conestoga wagon, or tree house with beds and mattresses. Girls in grades 6-12 can choose their own activities in the “Older Girl option” Monday and Thursday.

ACTIVITY PREREQUISITES Swimming: Girls are tested on Sunday and placed in swim groups based on ability. Participation in certain activities requires the appropriate swimming skills. See program descriptions. Canoeing, Boating, Rafting, etc: Must have passed American Red Cross level 2 swimming instruction. Horseback Riding: All girls are placed in lessons based on their ability. Horseback riding questionnaires are included with the confirmation packet to help us determine a camper’s skill level. We provide girls with approved helmets, but all participants must bring appropriate footwear and clothing. Descriptions will be included in your confirmation packet. Only one of our horseback riding programs currently has a prerequisite. For the Extreme Equestrian program, riders must be at the intermediate level and must be able to do the following: tack, mount, ride with good position and balance at a walk, trot, jog and canter, do simple reverses, circles or patterns at a jog or trot without breaking gait, demonstrate correct jumping posture over poles or low cross rails, dismount and lead the horse away unaided, transition from one gait to another smoothly on command, and demonstrate correct jumping over low single fences.

ENTERING GRADES 7–12 Riding Thru History JULY 16-21 $535 Giddy up! Go to Gettysburg, the site of the largest Civil War battle and one of the most haunted places in the United States. Ride the battlefield (weather permitting), explore historic Gettysburg, and take a candlelight ghost tour! Back at camp, take part in the riding program, shoot archery, swim, and more. This program is designed for girls who have taken Camp Program Aide and want to continue their experience­—you can even take it more than once! During your two weeks at camp, you will fine-tune the skills you learned in your Camp Program Aide training as you continue your work with younger campers and cultivate your leadership skills. Learn about leadership, safety, risk management, childcare and all that it takes to be a camp counselor. The first two weeks of this program will focus on leadership skills and tips and tricks of being a successful counselor. During the second two weeks, you will participate in an internship where you will be able to use your skills as a “counselor” for younger girls. Applicants must demonstrate maturity, commitment, leadership potential, and be able to work well with others to create a positive environment. CITs will also enjoy traditional camp activities during their stay. Applicants will be required to pass an interview with the camp director prior to final acceptance into the program. Upon successful completion of this program, girls will earn the CIT I pin.

Who you gonna call? You! First, take a trip to Philadelphia and the Eastern State Penitentiary for a behind-the-scenes tour. Then, take a two-night trip to explore the mysteries of Gettysburg, one of the most haunted places in the United States. Go on the Ghosts of Gettysburg tour—voted the #1 ghost tour in the world—and hunt for paranormal activity in a hands-on ghost investigation at Spooky Riley’s Black Cat Tours. Don’t forget to bring your cameras! During the day, visit the Gettysburg Visitor Center, tour the battlefield, explore the Jenny Wade House, and more.

LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS ENTERING GRADES 7–9 Resident Camp Program Aide JULY 16-28 (2 WEEKS) $405 Are you a returning camper who wants to be more involved? During this two-weeklong training, you will work as part of a team to design and lead activities for younger girls. Enjoy songs and games while learning about teambuilding, personal growth, and the basics of leading a group of girls. You will fulfill GSEP requirements for the Program Aide Training Course. Girls will not earn the Program Aide Pin at camp, but they will complete many of the requirements; LiA and leadership hours will need to be completed independently in order to earn the pin.

ENTERING GRADES 8–9 Take Charge JULY 30 – AUGUST 11 (2 WEEKS) $405

Horseback Riding: This program is designed for the experienced rider with at least four years of extensive horse experience. Training includes shadowing members of the riding staff and observing from behind the scenes. In addition, you will learn advanced horse and stable management skills, herd care, and horse psychology. You’ll also discover techniques for teaching and supervising horseback riding students, and learn equine medical emergency skills. Once this is completed, you will put your newly acquired skills into practice. Teambuilding: Designed for girls who like the adventure elements of camp. In this training, you will learn how to facilitate teambuilding activities, the rock wall and ropes courses, and how to implement various backpacking techniques. Once completed, you will work with younger girls to help them experience the thrill of adventure. Arts and Crafts: This program is designed for girls who are experienced in different types of arts activities i.e. drawing, painting, ceramics, weaving, or knitting. Environmental/Nature: You will work with the Environmental Education Specialist to plan and lead girls on creek exploration hikes, track finding, and science experiments. You will also spend time at the Critter Cabin, teaching girls about the alpacas and other animals found there.

WEEKEND STOWAWAY ENTERING GRADES 4–12 Weekend Stays

ENTERING GRADES 11–12 CIT-II JULY 23-AUGUST 11 (3 WEEKS) *Girls go home the weekend of July 28-30 JULY 30-AUGUST 11 (2 WEEKS) $405 (2 weeks) $475 (3 weeks) Have you already earned your CIT-I pin and are looking for more experience in a special activity area? If so, then CITII is for you! Prerequisite: Must have successfully completed CIT-I and obtained permission from the camp director. Waterfront: You must be a lifeguard, or qualify to take the lifeguard training prior to the start of camp. To qualify you will be expected to swim 550 yards using freestyle and breaststrokes, retrieve a 10 lb. brick from the bottom of the lake or pool, and tread water with hands out of the water for 10 minutes.

JULY 7-9, JULY 21-23, AUGUST 4-6 $90 Stow away at camp between sessions! Once your first session ends, hang out at camp overnight to rest up for your next adventure. Have a movie night, pool party, and explore camp after everyone else has gone home. This program is only open to campers registered for the following sessions: (Session 2: JULY 2-7 and Session 3: JULY 9-14), (Session 4: JULY 16-21 and Session 5: JULY 23-28) and (Session 6: JULY 30-AUGUST 4 and Session 7: AUGUST 6-11). *If you are signed up for a two-week session, your weekend is part of the original rate and you do not need to sign up for the Weekend Stay. Girls who want to start their camp stay early must arrive at 5PM on the Friday of their weekend stay. Girls that are extending their stay should be picked up Sunday at 1:30PM.
